Shootsac KITSSBS11 overview

  • 1Description

The black Lens Bag from Shootsac is a sling-style shoulder bag that allows you to have from 3-6 lenses at your disposal quickly and efficiently. It's not meant to be or replace a traditional shoulder bag that holds your DSLR but rather it's akin to a "bandolier" where you store lenses, flashes and/or accessories.

With its slim, lightweight (7.0 oz) profile, it hugs your body with its wetsuit-grade neoprene material avoiding the needs to lug around a heavy, bulky camera bag. For the shooter who travels with a DSLR and only wants to tote around a bunch of lenses, the Shootsac Lens Bag is the answer. It is also designed to hold small accessories such as batteries and memory cards.

The Shootsac Lens Bag has six pockets. The front three have hidden elastic inserts that stretch to accommodate the lens being stored. The rear three pockets are recommended for your small accessories. The bag also comes with an interchangeable neoprene cover that serves two functions. First, since the pockets do not seal, it helps keep the dust and dirt off your glass. Perhaps more importantly, it covers up the bulges and bumps of the lenses and adds a level of security while you're on the move.

Designed to be worn while you shoot providing quick and easy access to 3-6 lenses, flashes and other shooting necessities
Allows fast, one-handed access to lenses
Includes an interchangeable neoprene cover and lens cloth that protects your lenses from dust, dirt and also disguises the bumps and bulges of the lenses to provide an added measure of security

    Shootsac KITSSBS11 reviews

Lens Bag (Black) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Much more comfortable than a regular bag The Shootsac is amazingly comfortable even when loaded down with several lenses. From the pictures you would think the material is more of a dive-suit neopreen but it's thicker and has a nice waffle pattern texture. One of the things I really love about it is that it forces you to think carefully about what you'll carry. Do you really need every piece of your gear hanging from your shoulder? You don't. The concept is that you pack your regular gear case/bag to your location/setup and then load up the Shootsac only with what you need on-foot. Lenses, batteries, memory cards, flash... but your camera is in hand or on a neck-strap. Only thing I deducted a star for is the price. It's really quite out of control. And having to buy the little shoulder pad separately is ridiculous, just include it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product Works great while walking around shooting and packing a spare lens, cap, flash etc.. With 3 main pockets it makes a great place to stash the lens you are removing while you cap it and then install the new lens ... no looking for a safe surface to lay the one lens down on during the swap. Have used with sigma 50-500 and a nikor 24-120 and it worked great.Would be a 5 star except the cost is a little high and would prefer it in white or some other lighter color. Black does not help keep gear cool. Pic on web showed a white patterned flap with no color option but it arrived all black.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for the long run.. I've had the Shootsac for about 7 years now and it still holds up. I don't use the cover flap, it's unnecessary for my preferences, and I'd rather have quicker access to what I'm carrying. I love it because it wraps close to your body as opposed to carrying a bulky boxy camera bag. I usually carry 2-3 lenses, mem cards, my cell, my wallet/or keys and sometimes even a water bottle comfortably. Larger lenses will definitely be harder to fit and carry like the 70-200, but its still feasible. (I shoot mainly primes.) My only complaint is that the pockets are stretching out from use over the years, but still totally usable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Didn't even notice it I'm a wedding photographer and usually end up carrying a clunky square bag to hold my gear (which makes it difficult to move around) or no bag at all (which makes it so I have to go back to base often to change gear) but this solved my problem. I didn't even notice I was wearing it. I wish it had a couple smaller compartments to hold a cell phone and CF cards, but I've easily made due so I can't complain. :) I definitely wish it came with the shoulder coushin, though, rather than having to buy it on it's own. I may end up ordering that (silly) add-on later.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not buy! I had been debating this purchase for over a year, and I finally decided that what I truly needed for event/wedding photography was something non-bulky that could house my 70-200 and an additional lens (and perhaps a few other ancillary items). Upon arrival, I unpacked it. It was larger than I expected, but seemed reasonable. I placed my 24mm into the bag and noticed it was not snug at all. I then placed my 70-200 in the bag with the same result. I turned the bag horizontally to experience the lack of snug-ness, while holding onto the 70-200. The 24mm, however, immediately slid out and onto the floor! Luckily, I was over carpet and not something more damaging. This bag does not secure the lenses. There are no zippers, so smaller items, too, are not secure. Very disappointed. Issued an RMA for the bag to return within the first 24 hours. My advice? Do not buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Where have you been all my life? This is a carry-along that I wish I'd had years ago. It is not rigid, which makes it much more comfortable to wear. It is made of a material that is sturdy and user-friendly. I have many camera/video bags that I purchased over the years. I worked for a camera store for nine years so I was able to obtain items at an employee discount. So, I have just about one of everything. However, this lens/accessory bag is just the thing for a casual shoot or day out. I haven't used it enough to find a disadvantage but it may not hold the largest lenses I have. Kudos to the designer.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great but get ready to work out! I like my shootsac but I only like it without the cover on it. The cover is just another thing to try to get around to get your lens faster. The other thing to consider is that you'll be carrying the entire weight of all of your equipment on one shoulder! After 8 hours of work, that hurts!!! So if you get this, just keep things on the lighter side/remember that you'll be carrying lots of weight. Asie from that, it's sleek, easy to use once you got it all set up and quite frankly, I NEVER have to worry about leaving my equipment places or setting it down!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Bag for Wedding Work! Reading other reviewer's con lists, let's be clear. This bag is not meant to replace a sturdy travel bag - and the website says as much. Instead, it's to keep a quick switch of lenses handy. When shooting the end of a wedding ceremony, for example, I'm often switching from a 135 to a wide angle, moving from capturing the kiss to the happy couple coming down the aisle. If I had to run back to my main camera bag to grab my wide angle, I'd miss the shot entirely. Now, with the Shootsac, I've got a comfortable, stylish third hand ready to pass me whatever lens I'll need next. And it also holds a water bottle, snacks, a sewing kit for bridal parties, my wallet, and a hairbrush. Everything I need is right at my fingertips. LOVE IT!
