    Revo DS-4 reviews

Quad Skate Tabletop Dolly with Scale Marks is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 37.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from I would buy this again it is a nice starter Dolly I purchased this to use with my Canon T4i and Canon 24-70 2.8 L USM. I bent a 1.5 metal strap drilled tapped to -20 to move the camera for good balance (see photo). I have been very satisfied with this dolly. The graduations for rotation are not very helpful as other reviews have said. But for the money this has not been a major issue. I gave this a 4 because I have only used it about 10 times with the track and on a counter top remnant for a curved shot. I am having fun with this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Buy!!! When I started to experiment more with video, I came across this skate slider. I was looking for an alternative to a slider with more reach. I find this dolly to be exceptionally well suited to my needs. What I loved was that I initially was going to purchase a more expensive brand and B&H website automatically suggested this one instead. Do note, you will need a smooth surface and a tripod head. The one star I'm deducting is due to the moveable wheels, despite have markers, I would've preferred grooves to indicate each position when turning the wheels. For the price and what I'm using it for, it's a great buy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for the price I had to deduct a star simply because the first unit I received was faulty. B&H quickly rectified the issue and it works just as advertised. While it is possible to mount a smaller camera directly onto the skate, I paired mine with a Manfrotto 494RC2 ball head for a little more flexibility. The skate is very smooth on the right surface and the adjustable wheels make for a variety of shots. The index marks on the skate are not all that useful as there is no actual nomenclature other than marks that don't really align with the axel. The axel itself also has no index mark to assist with alignment. Still like the overall functionality but there is quite a bit a trial and error in the beginning. The 1/4 20 mounting screw on the skate is designed to fit right into the camera. However, as most tripod heads require a 3/8 16 thread, you might want to consider an insert for mounting a head as I did.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job. The only complaint I have about this is that the scale marks are completely useless. You wont be able to align the wheels to absolute precision, so good luck trying to get it to travel in a straight line for more than 3 feet. On the other hand it's great for the price. It's something to get me started while I'm saving up to buy something better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Solution For The Right Price I was looking for an affordable way to get some panning shots with my Sony SLT A77 and this sure did the trick! I can get really professional looking video with this dolly with relative ease. I do recommend making sure you hold your camera steady on the dolly because even on a really smooth surface, the dolly can case some camera shake. After some practice with it, I was able to minimize any camera shake by simply having one hand on the dolly and my other hand on the camera. Overall, a great product for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great deal for the money! I initially set out to make a table top dolly myself, but you cannot buy the parts for less than this costs, so I gave it a shot. It is very smooth on smooth surfaces. I was also very pleased that my Manfrotto 502HD head fits on it with no problem. I use this on my homemade slder rails too - a couple 4 ft aluminum rails on a couple planks of pine with holes for light stands and you can use this dolly for moving time lapse or very smooth lateral camera movements. So far so good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must - he who has the most tools wins! I purchase the Quad Tabletop Dolly for the different shot...we used a slider to video tape the the customs in Trip to Bountiful ------------------- (video section - Pat, Heather and myself), its was amazing; it was these shots that inspired me to want to do more...I must point-out that the lines on the main platform are miss leading and I put my own lines using a black magic marker and a level for accuracy. I highly recommend this product because it does do the job!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No Slider Replacement, BUT it works. I bought this hoping to replace my Kessler Cineslider. While the Quad Skate has applications, it is no replacement for a slider. It is compact. I can keep it in a backpack, but if I am going to use it like a slider I am going to need to build some devices for smooth movement on any surface that has a few bumps. The placement of the markings is useless, they don't correspond to anything. It is what you would expect for $. It works, but not like my $ slider.
