The Canon KJ22ex7.6B IASE 2/3" Telephoto Remote Control Portable Lens is a telephoto portable HDTV production lens within the 2/3-inch image format sector of the HDgc family. This particular lens is intended for producers and broadcast and cable news photographers that have a high priority towards the ability to shoot over long distances combined with reasonably wide angle capture. The KJ22ex7.6B offers focal lengths up to 168mm (or 336mm with extender) and a wide-angle of almost 64.6 degrees horizontal.

The KJ22ex7.6B utilizes new technologies and computer-aided design techniques to produce a very wide-angle HDTV lens. It is a design directly responding to the expressed creative desires of broadcasters and HD producers for more versatility in an HD acquisition system. The KJ22ex7.6B has a high MTF (Modulation Transfer Function) over the entire image plane, minimization of chromatic aberrations, and maximization of image contrast. Relative light distribution was optimized for the more open aperture settings and this uniformity of brightness across the image plane combines with the high contrast and excellent picture sharpness to produce crisp and clear HD pictures. Additionally, the KJ22ex7.6B comes outfitted with large diameter aspherical lens elements that contribute to a better control of chromatic aberration, geometric distortion, and corner resolution. Curvature of field and chromatic aberrations have been reduced by use of special optical materials that include Fluorite and Hi-UD glasses.

Shuttle Shot
By memorizing any two focal lengths, the digital drive can automatically "shuttle" between the two points, moving in either direction.
Framing Preset
An angle of view can be preset in either of two memories and the lens will zoom to that position by pushing a simple button. During a performance, framing preset will reproduce the zoom position decided upon at the rehearsal. It is easy to repeat the same zoom as often as you like at the highest speed or in a preset zoom speed.
Speed Preset
A specific zoom speed can be preset in memory and it is possible to repeat the zoom speed as often as you like by pushing a simple button.
16 bit Resolution Rotary Encoder Device
With the introduction of a 16 bit resolution Rotary Encoder Device built into the new enhanced digital drive unit, the lens can simply be integrated into a virtual digital studio system without any additions.
