Oben BA-113 Overview

The BA-113 Single Lever Ball Head from Oben is a simple ball head with one locking knob to control all motion. The knob allows you to unlock the ball so that you can quickly orient your camera properly, retighten the knob, and return to shooting. This enables fast setup changes, and frees you to keep a finger on the trigger while you're making a quick adjustment to the head's orientation. The head has a 90° notch which facilitates shooting in portrait orientation. One bull's eye and three tubular bubble levels ensure your camera is level on both the horizontal and vertical axes.

The included quick-release plate has a retractable video pin, and attaches to your camera via its standard 1/4"-20 screw. With your camera attached to the quick-release plate, it easily snaps and locks into place on the ball head, and a safety lock on the release lever prevents it from being accidentally released.

Another decent product from Oben

Solid, compact and lightweight. This is my third Oben product and all seem to be well made and sold at a decent price, so good value for money. I've only used the ballhead to make some tests but it seems pretty solid. I'm using it with a Sony FS5 and an Edelkrone slider, so needed something strong and this seems to do the job so far

Very well built. Single lever locking makes it very easy to adjust. Rock solid when locked and plenty sturdy for my mirrorless system. Pairs extremely well with the Induro Stealth carbon fiber travel tripod. Makes for an extremely solid support in a light-weight package.

Just what I needed

I bought this to replace the pan head on my Sunpak 6600DX. The tripod works fine but the head would not provide adequate support for my Nikon D610, especially with the Tamron 150-600 lens. The BA-113 provides all the support that I need. The single lever took almost no time to get used to and is very responsive for those quick adjustments needed for wildlife photography.

Solid ballhead to buy on sale

Must say I bought it because it was on sale. I bought it for use on a lighter, mirrorless, kit. It is very solid and strong though. I've had my Nikon D750 on it and it held it tight and strong at different angles. I just hope it lasts. The thing I've had problems in the past with are the quick disconnect plate mechanisms so time will tell if this one holds up. It seems to be well engineered. I have it on a Benro alum. tripod that is capable of same support weight, 13.2 lbs. It's overall pack weight is pretty light at about 3.5 lb's on this tripod/ballhead combo. Got the tripod on sale too so, combined tripod and ballhead was a great deal from B&H.

Lightweight, Good value.

Very light for use on lightweight tripod. Very good ARCA type Q.R. plate. Hold my camera with 55-300mm lens firmly and securely. Wish it has separate ball release, and tension control knobs

simple and ok

there are so many things that can make you hate a tripod head... but with this simple, plain, cheap thing, everything is in order. it's light, the one lever operation is good, it doesn't move when you tighten it, the qr plate has that little pin that's very practical, it doesn't try to look nifty and goes well with my carbon gitzo, and it holds my camera - mirrorless full frame with nothing longer than a 85mm lens - easily and reliably. i wouldn't mind an aluminium lever instead of a plastic one. but hey, it's only 60 dollars.

Small but solid

Ideal for usage with a monopod for travel. Has a quick release mechanism to attach the camera. Feels very solid and reliable. At first I didn’t find a nut to fit my monopod, but it was included in the package and was just sitting in a dedicated little bag.

Can I change the pan head out for this on my Oben AG 1451 tripod?????
Asked by: Michael
As long as the pan head you purchase has a 3/8"-16 female tripod socket on the base of the pan head, yes, it would be compatible for use with the Oben AC-1451 4-Section Aluminum Tripod.

Yes, you can use virtually any head on the Oben ACM1400, as there are both 1/4 -20 and 3/8 -16 threads.

The AC 1451 has a 1/420 and a 3/8 stud. You can attach the BA 113 directly.
