I recognize this ball head is heavy, but by being heavy It now know my camera with all its gear attached wouldn't fall.

Bought this to use with a FEISOL TT-15 Mark 2 Tabletop Tripod. Very compact and easy to use. Held my Olympus EM1.2 and Oly 40-150 f2.8 with ease.

Great ball head, until it broke

I was loving this thing. Used it on a Rhino slider with Sony alpha cameras in interviews. I've had it just over two months, though, and the locking knob doesn't work anymore. It's stuck at about 80% locked. I can still use it for interviews, but if I'm trying a shot with a bit of tilt or anything off-center, the lock loses its grip. I can't loosen or tighten. It's been well-cared for, so I'm not sure if I just got a lemon or what. It's a shame. This was functioning exactly how I needed it to, but I'm hesitant to buy another one and flush another $70 down the toilet.

Pretty good

It seems pretty good so far. I think the panning lock should get tighter.

Great product, would buy again

Can't go wrong with this one. I liked it so much I ended up buying it's big brother the BE-117 for my larger tripod.

Is this Oben BE 108 the same as Oben 106T ? newer model to replace the 106 T, but has exact the same specs ?
Asked by: LAM
The Oben BA-106T was only rated for 6.6 pounds while the BE_108 is rated for 8.8 pounds, Also the BE-108 uses the Arca Swiss standard style plates and the BA106T used a proprietary plate.

question

Is the quick release system detachable? I have manfrotto plates and I'd like to know if i can attach my own system to the ball. Thanks!
Asked by: Feli H.
Yes, the plate is removable on mine. There is an recessed Allen head screw in the mount plate. But if you want to use another companies proprietary plate I'd suggest you just buy a whole head from them. The mount plate for that would have to bolt on the same way. Personally I like the universal aspect of the Acra-Swiss system. I've converted all my tripods and mono-pods to that. 1 plate to rule them all!

question

Will this head work on a Joby 3k gorilla pod?
Asked by: Carlos
I have not looked at the Gorilla Pod tripod, but the base on this ballhead is 1 1/2 inches in diameter. It is threaded for 3/8 x 16. I do not remember if a 3/8 to 1/4 inch adapter came in the box so if that is what the gorilla pod needs you will have to get that thread adapter.

question

I've recently bought a BE-117T head which is very good, anyhow it comes with a QR-20 quick release plate. In the first photo on this, it shows a QR-10 plate, in the last it shows a QR-20... What is the difference between the plates? Are the plates interchangeable?
Asked by: Cameron S.
Just noticed that the QR-10 is shorter than the QR-20... Is there any other difference?

question

How does the Arca Swiss secure to the camera? Is it a key, or do you need to use a coin or screw driver attach the ball head?
Asked by: Harvey
The quick release plate attaches to the camera with the allen wrench.
