Elinchrom EL19295 Reviews
Great battery
One of the most dependable battery with the Elinchrome 400 ELB strobe lighting. Battery lasted 10 years with care and proper maintenance.
Great battery with one rule
Great battery as long as you follow the golden rule of charging it once every other month. Set a recurring reminder on your calendar! Other wise they drop below recoverable voltage and you have an expense paper weight. All lithium batteries are like this, most we use all the time and charge often. I learned this hard lesson by letting two die.
Battery completely dead after 2 years
I paid good money for the Elinchrom brand, thinking that it would be better than China made junk. One out of 2 batteries dead after TWO years. Unbelievable. Also, in the first month of ownership, both batteries cracked in the same two corners, despite me babying them. I never abuse or drop my gear. I store them in cool, dry conditions, inside cushioned Pelican cases. Why do they show signs of abuse?!
Very Disappointing
I purchased the Quadra system and after two years of minimal usage, literally 10-12 times total, the battery is dead. I come online thinking it may be an easy replacement, but this battery is $400. That is ridiculous.
Great batteries
Purchased 2 of these to have spare batteries for my 2 ELB400 sets. These are exactly the same batteries as the ones provided with each ELB400 kits, so, if you got no problem with your original batteries, these won't give you any problem either. Only thing I find weird is that the ELB 500 TTL batteries are sold for much cheaper, while supposedly being better than these.
Expensive garbage
Bought the ELB-400 set with 2 batteries included. Used most of the time just one battery but also charged the second one at least once a month. After a year the second one turned out to be dead. Expensive garbage. Refused to buy a new one, bought a Flashpoint XPLOR 600 (Godox) instead as a backup with Elinchrom modifier adapter.
Works
Been doing quick location shoots with one Li-Ion Battery. Finally hit the ceiling on one shoot so got a second battery. These batteries are finicky and needs regular charging. But with proper care they work for me and also I can fly with the in my carry-on without any problem.
New Life for the Old Quadra Packs
A huge performance improvement PLUS much, much lighter than the lead-gel batteries. Yes, they are insanely expensive, just WAY overpriced. And I am worried there are so many poor reviews regarding long-term reliability, but so far mine have been terrific. It seems people have issues after letting them sit unused for too long. I'm trying to use and recharge them at least once a month or so, even when I'm not working much. Fingers crossed.
