    Impact FF-SB70 Reviews

50 x 70 cm Softbox for Fluorescent Fixtures is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 33.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from No-frills The softbox doesn't mount on a speed ring, instead it's directly on the light fixture. This means it can only be vertical or horizontal and can be time consuming to rotate. It directs the light evenly, doesn't affect the color and is otherwise functional. It has an outer diffusion that fits in snugly with velcro, but no inner baffle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Economical Fixture I use this for home art photography projects. I been using it for a couple months so far. If your looking to dip your toes into the world of studio lighting, this is a great economical way to start.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Set I purchased this as a set with x 3 Impact 4 Socket Fluorescent Fixture, x 3 Impact 50 x 70 cm Softbox for Fluorescent Fixtures, x 3 Impact Light Stand, Black - 6' (1.8 m), x 16 Eiko SP27/50K Spiral Fluorescent Lamp (26W/120V), with one Impact Light Kit Bag #3. The set was super convenient and cheep. With all 4 lights in the fixture it may put off to much for you - so simply take a light or two out. Takes about 15 minutes to set up the set and 10 minutes to pack it back up. For my money it's the best.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice fixture for the price When I ordered two sets of these light kits, I didn't really expect much, given their discounted price. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The kits are easy to assemble, provide a reasonable amount of soft light, and weigh only about 6-7 pounds per assembly. They probably wouldn't stand up to heavy use, but pro-level gear would cost many times the price of these units. These would be a good choice for an occasional user or as fill lights in a larger setup.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice box, not so simple setup I love the size of these boxes, but I do hate that it doesn't pop open umbrella style. The boning has to be placed and popped in every time you use it. Three of the rods go in easily, but there seems to be no simple way to get the last rod in place. So far, it seems to be quite the tussle to get it in the box while we're out and about. Could be that it's new and we'll develop a technique, but so far, that hasn't been the case.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great inexpensive softbox I use this with the Impact single socket flourescent fixture and it has been working well. My giant 105W CFL bulb (the compact part of that isn't quite correct with that bulb) fits in it fine. As of right now, the 4 poles that hold it are a little tight and tricky to put in. I'm hoping that over time it will stretch a little and get easier, but it certainly isn't going to fall off because it was loose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for $ product was easy to put together and travel with! I had no problems figuring it out. One thing to remember is to position/align front of soft box with a leg to help with tipping. Lighting was really useful for the event photography I completed- I was happy with the pictures- could have used a 3rd light to help with some shadowing but I am satisfied with the product for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even lighting This was part of a light kit I order. Once you figure out how to put it together, which did not take long, you can assembly it in about 2 minutes or less. This softbox combined with the light fixture finally gave me even lighting with allowed me to get rid of the hot spots off my face. I use this kit to light up my office as a film my sermons.

    question

Has anyone or does anyone know if this compatible with Savage 500W LED Studio Light Kit?
    Asked by: Michael Y.
Unfortunately, this softbox would not be compatible with the Savage 500W LED Studio Light Kit. It only compatible with Impact Fluorescent fixtures such as the FF-S1 or FF-S4. However, the Westcott Apollo Softbox with Recessed Front (28 x 28 ) B&H # WEAR28 could be used as it attaches like an umbrella. Please see the image below for reference.

    question

what is the type of bulbs used with this softbox.?
    Asked by: Randall I.
I'm using 4 75W CFLs in the 4 socket adapter inside this softbox and it works great. Around 3500K gives a good neutral light.

    question

Do the soft boxes collapse for storage and are they easy to set-up?
    Asked by: Michael C.
These are great lights, but they are not like umbrellas that open and close with the push of a button. Once you learn the setup procedure they are easy to set up and take down. I wouldn't want to be doing that every day, though. If I know I will be using them again within a month, I try to leave them setup. If I am going to store them for longer than a month, I break them down. This is just my personal work habits, but I consider myself pretty typical. Hope that helps.
