    Impact V-2012 reviews

Qualite 300 V-2012 Focusing Flood Light (300W/120V) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value Purchased a set of two and found them to be excellent when shooting portraits or still-life. The effects achieved were great and the construction of the lights is better than expected; can't beat the price. I can remove the barn-doors and attach a softbox in seconds. Great versatility. The 33 translucent umbrellas that came with the kit had one drawback; the caps on the base of the shafts pulled out when sliding them out of the holders. Applied Super Glue to the caps and that eliminated the problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Pleased Very pleased with the light output of this little unit, and at 300w. The only drawback was the focus is not great. The unit runs fairly cool, compared to other more solid, expensive lighting units. I was very happy with the output when it had the softbox mount on it. I look forward to using it for years to come.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good floodlight Recently I flew to L.A. to shoot a movie premiere and packed two of these flood light as part of my lighting kit. They travel well, survived the airlines gentle handling, and performed well on the red carpet as side lighting. They get extremely hot, but cool down after about five to ten minutes. They are easy to put together and are fairly rugged as long as you do not move them around while they are hot. They are lightweight which is good for traveling, but can be knocked over easily which is a disadvantage if they are at an event with a lot of people.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Budget Lights Bought a two light set with stands and soft boxes on BHphoto over a year ago, and these lights have done a very solid job since. In video shoots where we tend to leave them on for a long time they can get pretty hot, but no issues so far. I'd highly recommend the soft boxes, as the light can be very harsh on video otherwise. Pros: Light bulbs last fairly long before needing to be replaced. Quick to set up and tear down during a shoot. Good light production Solid build quality despite being plastic housing. Cons: Light stands are a little flimsy. They have never fell on my watch, even with the softboxes installed, but you can tell they are designed with sandbags in mind. I am being lazy by not adding sandbags to my collection of film gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great For The Price Using these for hairs lights on a green screen, and some random other flood stuff. For the price of 2 Arri's we were able to get 2 of these which come with lamps, 2 stands, 2 sand bags, and a roll of diffusion to even out their throw. Expensive lights are nice, but on a budget this are working super well. No complaints from me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good if you are on a budget. The barn doors do a good job of directing the light. However, the stand is flimsy. When a soft box is attached, the entire things tips easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Light! Coupled with the Impact C-stand. This is a beautiful, versital and very high quality light and stand. I’ll be using this as a artist studio model light. It will be great to be able to light the model from any direction and not have the stand block the model as it will now be able to arc over the model from behind. It creates a beautiful, bright, warm..but not too warm light.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good flood light for the amount of money The light has a warm temperature, excellent as a flood light for my portraits. It gets very hot after a very few minutes on making it difficult to handle and adjust but when you turn it off it cool down very quickly. I'm using it with a dimmer to improve the quantity of light and it works perfectly. I highly recommend to use them together to get better results.
