Sescom SES-A-V-SYNC overview

  • 1Description

The affordable and compact Sescom SES-A-V-SYNC A/V Lip-Sync Corrector is a left/right in-out audio and video synchronization corrector, which essentially fixes audio delays between audio and video. When distributing video over long distances through multiple devices, there can be a noticeable delay which results in audio being played before the video. This also happens when the audio from a source is sent to an amplifier over analog lines, while the video is send to the display over HDMI or digital lines. The SES-A-V-SYNC fixes this "lag" and it can be manually adjusted, which means that the audio delay can be set from 0 to 300 ms in set increments. This will allow you to perfectly sync your program's audio and video and greatly enhance your audio/video experience.

Use it for your home theater, cable TV, set-top box, showroom display and more

    Sescom SES-A-V-SYNC reviews

    SES-A-V-SYNC A/V Lip-Sync Corrector is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally, a solution! Prior to finding this gem, I had to route my audio from my TV to my stereo by way of the head phone jack in order to sync the sound with the video. I have a great, LED HDTV, but the audio out is really, really, bad.Placing the delay in line allowed me to route the audio directly to the stereo, bypassing the tv, and I adjusted the delay out with the rotary knob. The sound is awesome! I actually had quit watching DVDs due to the terrible audio. Now, I'm back to watching concert DVDs behind the boat with a crowd at the beach (which I love). Please note that this product requires AC power (may be a factor in boat applications).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well. Solved lip sync problem w/ my Smart TV. Works OK, but... The amount of delay is only adjustable in large increments. It would be better to have 10 ms, instead of 50 ms, intervals. Also in the not-so-great category: The on blue LED is too large, is way too bright, and -- like so many other, similar devices -- is nearly superfluous. A tiny LED would be enough. A piece of black electrical tape solves this problem, of course.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and works... Do you have a lip-sync problem or perhaps one DAC that is a little slow? This handy little device lets you get everything is sync. For my whole house system some areas were going through the AV Receiver's digital paths and others were staying analog. The end result was that the digital path was being delayed enough that the analog signal for the same source was ahead of it. I used these devices to get the Analog signals in sync so that there isn't a horrible echo effect between the analog and digital version of the source.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extemely useful and worth every penny! This audio delay is an extremely great deal for the cost. I had close to a 200ms delay between the audio and video. Checked into several different delays and decided to buy the SESCOM. Plugged this into the audio chain and adjusted it to 150ms and we were back to spot on. Keep in mind that it only adjusts in 50ms segments. So you have 50, 100, 150, 200, 250 or 300ms time settings. Yes it would be nice if it was a bit more flexible and maybe increase the range to 500ms, but for the cost, you can't beat this thing!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from not fine enough settings While the product works, video is delayed in increments of a frame, 60 frames per second or 16ms. sometimes less. This product falls short by having large jumps in the delay. 50ms to 100ms ... it will get you close to a proper delay. close enough. it is also the least costly option.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fixed the Problem I installed the Corrector in a TV studio control room. I installed a new digital Time Base Corrector between a DVD player and my video switcher. The digital TBC delayed the video and caused a sync problem. Using the SES unit I was able to find the right audio delay to get the video and audio back in sync. I didn't know how far out of sync the audio was so I didn't know if the SES unit had enough range to correct it. I only needed 250ms so the unit was fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from does exactly what you need and no more. We need to delay the audio of a video feed because the video processing causes it to be delayed. We were use the Behringer Shark FB100 but it does way more than we need and sometimes tried to do stuff we didn't need, like cutting down the level. This unit does what it says it does. It delays the audio. we have it set to 100ms and since it's a hardware setting, we literally set it and forget it. We have this in 9 studios and it just works sorry Apple

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Teeny-tiny thing does the job ... ...close enoughPlaying my HDTV using the analog outputs into a stereo, I was able to eliminate a sync problem that I estimate was about 60-70 ms. (equivalent to a slapback echo). 50 ms was close enough; 100 was too much..A lttle more flexibility would be nice!no degradation in sound was perceived.Sescom was a few dollars less than a competing brand the looked EXACTLAY the same ( exact same swtich and settings!)
