Giottos' VGR9254-S2N Aluminum Tripod/Monopod W/QR Ballhead is a solid reverse structure professional tripod designed according to the Golden Ratio shown in Da Vinci's famous picture of the Vitruvian Man. The collar is made from aluminum alloy with an increased molecular density. It folds down to a manageable 16.6" size and can be converted to a 62.8" monopod. This aluminum support will extend to 61", but its minimum working height is less than a foot--11.2"--and it folds down to 16.5". Although it weighs just 3.3 lbs (1.49 kg), it can support up to 8.8 lbs. The included quick-release ballhead has a bubble level and is Arca-compatible.

Plus, one leg of the tripod combined with the center column converts to a monopod that extends to 62.8" and collapses to 30.0". The 4 tripod leg sections use a quick twist-lock design, and the rubber feet are supplied with metal spikes for use on uneven or rough terrain.

    VGR9254-S2N Aluminum Tripod/Monopod W/QR Ballhead is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from One of the worst I've ever used This seemed great out of the box. And it was for about a month. And then it started to fall apart. The center pole, even when tightened down, rotates about 2 degrees with a medium amount of pressure. Thus, impossible to lockdown 100%. The screws that hold the legs on constantly come loose and I have to tighten them down before every shoot. The head is the worst part. I guess it's a brand thing, but not have a locking plate seems odd to me. The big screw on the side can unscrew and let the camera fall off the head. Not cool. And the ball level can't be read when a camera is on the head. Also odd to me. I understand this isn't a high dollar tripod but I expected more from this brand. There are comparable products for less. Look at those. is very small and light. I can't take that away from it. I still use it because of those two things.
