Rokinon 24mm T1.5 Cine Overview

This lens is compatible with full-frame sensors and can also be used on APS-C-sized sensors, where the 35mm-equivalent focal length will be 36mm. The optical construction incorporates four extra-low dispersion elements, as well as two aspherical elements, to reduce chromatic aberration and distortion to produce sharper imagery. Additionally, a UMC coating has been applied to lens elements to minimize lens flare and ghosting for more contrast-rich images.

Wide-angle prime lens is well-suited to use in a broad variety of shooting situations.
Fast T1.5 maximum aperture benefits working in low-light conditions and provides greater control over focus placement for shallow depth of field applications.
Four extra-low dispersion elements and two aspherical elements reduce chromatic aberrations in order to produce greater sharpness and clarity.
UMC coating improves light transmission and suppresses lens flare and ghosting for more contrast-rich, color-neutral images.
Geared aperture and focus rings are compatible with standard follow focuses for greater control over adjustment.
De-clicked aperture ring facilitates smooth, quiet exposure adjustments during recording.

Can you use this lens to take photos on a canon 6D?
Asked by: Michael
While this is a manual Cinema lens that you will have to control the Iris and Focus on the lens itself, there is nothing to keep you from taking photos with it. It will work with the 6D for photography.

question

Sooooo, no IS for these lenses?
Asked by: Jace N.
Rokinon's market is affordable cine type lenses. In order to accomplish excellent image quality at an entry level price point, Rokinon lenses are all manual and do not have any electronics. Without electronics, no built-in IS is possible. However, if you desire IS, you can get a camera that has it built-in. The Sony Alpha a7S II Mirrorless Digital Camera (Body Only) is such a camera. Use these lenses on it and you will have IS.

question

What's the difference between: Rokinon 24mm T1.5 Cine DS Lens for Sony E-Mount B&H # RO2415SE MFR # DS24M-NEX and the this one?
Asked by: eric f.
The Rokinon DS label means the focus scales are on dual sides of the lens. This aids the focus puller working with this lens. The whole DS price set is desirable for this and for the fact all the lenses are the same physical size and exhibit the same optical and color characteristics. This aids post production so that matching intercut lenses is kept to a minimum.

question

For any people using this on Sony A7 series, focus peaking still works right? Just clarifying as I've never had a manual lens before.
Asked by: steven T.
Yes, I have it on an a7sii. There's 3 different levels of peaking (low, med., high) and 2 or three different colors to choose from.

question

If i want to use this lens on the Black Magic Production camera 4k for close ups, will i be able to go close to the subject, as i understand the BMPC has a certain crop factor? Thanks.
Asked by: Anonymous
There is a cropfactor of roughly 1.5 so 24mm will be around 36 mm.This is not super close however you can physicaly come pretty close due to the minimum focu distance.if you don't want this i would recommend a 50 or even better a 85 mm lens.
