Safety Dovetail Plate (8") is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid and inexpensive. This is great...for awhile, I've wanted to switch to Arri standard dovetails...in my case, to more quickly go from sticks to steadi... A few factors have kept me from buying them, one, is that for it to work for my purposes, I need two of them (one mounted to my steadicam dovetail yes, it's a dovetail mounted to a dovetail, and one mounted to my tripod. (And I rent a handheld rig that already has an Arri dovetail.). In addition to needing two of them, you also need a baseplate, so it's buying hundreds of dollars worth of gear just to get started. Anyways this dovetail is small and low profile...it actually works much better and is lighter than the wider Oconnor Arri dovetails, not to mention less than half the price of that design. A huge bonus for me is that it actually fits in my steadicam shipping case because it is so small, so I don't have to waste time removing it and attaching it for every shoot. One design detail I don't like is that its not 100% symmetrical like Wooden Camera's larger oconnor Arri dovetails...there are times it's more convenient to load the camera from the front and pull it on backwards...that is the one feature I like better on the Wooden Camera Oconnor dovetails over other brands (other than price, which is decent). This is the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars and not 5. They could just, replace the screw on bolt up front (removing it would allow front loading, but would then remove the safety feature that keeps the camera from sliding off) and put the same spring loaded safety that they have in the rear.
