The MuxLab Component Video & Analog Audio 2-Pack Balun Kit is a set of two baluns that work together to transmit a component video signal along with an analog audio signal for long distances over a Cat5e/6 cable. The cable is not included. You can carry, for example, a DVD player's video and audio signals from one room to a Plasma and speaker system in another. The baluns each connect to their video source by an integrated RCA cable with three male connectors, and to their audio source by an optional RCA cable. In the DVD player example, make sure to connect into the DVD player's analog audio outputs to carry an analog audio signal, which is the only kind that these baluns support. An audio signal carries on the fourth twisted pair of a Cat5e/6 cable.
The video carry distance depends on resolution. You can transmit 480i/p resolution 1000 ft, and 720p or 1080i/p 500 ft. Audio carries 3250 ft.
2 x MuxLab Component Video/Analog Audio Balun (Male)
The MuxLab Component Video/Analog Audio Balun (Male) transmits 1 component video (YPbPr or RGB) signal and 1 analog audio signal using Category 5E/6 twisted pair cables.
When used in pairs, the Component Video/Analog Audio Balun supports applications that use 480i/p (up to 1000') and 720p and 1080i/p (up to 500') HDTV (hi-definition) video. It offers support for analog audio on a fourth twisted pair, and features molded color-coded RCA cable leads and modular shielded RJ45 connectors for an easy attachment.
Offering a common mode rejection of up to -55 dB for video and up to 60 dB for audio, the Component Video/Analog Audio Balun ensures an error-free transmission. It is housed in ABS fire-retardant plastic.
