    HGST Touro reviews

1TB Touro Mobile 2.5" External Portable Hard Drive (Black) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 43.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Had this for a month. So far so good. Very fast drive. It is indeed 7200 RPM and probably the best / fastest drive you can find for the price. It is very portable and beautifully designed, which is great because I am always bringing it around in my laptop bag. I have a MacBook Pro so I had to format it, but it took less than a minute. Unfortunately I haven't had this drive for very long, so I can't say anything about its longterm durability, but so far so good. One bad thing I can possibly say about this is that the casing around the drive scratches very easily. Almost too easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far it's great I always read the worst reviews first, but the positive reviews convinced me to buy this. It's the largest capacity USB external harddrive that is 7200rpm and solely USB powered. And the least expensive. It's excellent so far, 1 week of ownership. If it fails a few months later as a couple reviewers have mentioned happened, I will update this. If not, I'll be buying a couple more, as field drives for video production for use when I need to offload a card and have no plug.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Drive Works as it should, and is 7200rpm and faster than 90% of the external drives out there. HGST (formerly owned by hitachi) uses special spindle design that makes them ideal for laptops and external drives. seagate dies easiest, western digital purchased this company for a reason. Great price too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great With 4 in a USB 3.0 Hub RAID 0 we actually measured read speeds over 507MBytes/sec using 2 hubs. We then removed the drives and installed them in a Promise Pegasus J4.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great speed at low cost! This little pocket drive just clocked at 125MB/s on my MacBook Pro Retina through it's USB 3.0! The fastest datatransfer yet on a non SSD! (after reformatting) Very light and small but unfortunately the casing cannot be opened without doing permanent damage to it... If it had eSATA it would be unsurpassable but for this price point it's probably the best pocket drive out there.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great performance and value Out of the box and an easy reformat to Mac OS, this HD is really portable, quick and reliable. OK, it does not have the robustness of the LaCie Rugged, but for a lower price you still get 7,200 spin speed and ITB capacity rather than 500GB - and its bus powered so no messing with power cables. I actually purchased this as a secondary offsite back up for my iMac - perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great portable disk! I like everything on this product except for the shiny / glossy front and back -- I think it will get scratched up pretty quick. But the specs are exactly what I needed, I think it's the best price-value ratio in HDDs.
