question

Is this zoom considered to be macro-focusing?
Asked by: George D.
No, not really. The minimum focusing distance is 18 /45cm.However, this distance applies through the entire focal length (18 - 270) which helps to bring in the object somebut not enough to get close-ups of insects, coins, or flower petals. Heck, on the other end, 270mm in APS-C translates to over 400mm in 35mm format. Pretty powerful telephoto! What is it they say?: You can't have it both ways!

question

Will this be full frame compatible? I own this lens as a do it all, walk around lens and am hoping that this will do the same on the K1. Other suggestions, if not?
Asked by: Rachael H.
The K-1 full frame camera is equipped with a crop mode that allow you to use your older lenses. Pentax has also introduced two new full frame lenses: one at the professional price point and one at a more entry-level price point.

question

How must lens vignetting does this lens have from 18mm to 270mm? I am very cautious about super zoom lenses causing that because of other lens I have owned that are super zoom at full zoom causing slight or complete vignetting, Any thoughts or suggestions?
Asked by: Mike H.
I have not experienced any vignetting at any focal length.
