The DPA4448Q-R Input / Output Speaker Processor from Marani features 4 input levels displayed by rows of 6-level LEDs and 1 clip LED, and 4 output levels displayed by rows of 5-level LEDs, 1 clip LED, and 1 limiter LED. This unit has 4 analog inputs, a stereo digital input, and 4 analog outputs. Each input has 5 filters and each output has 5 parametric filters. Both input and output filters can be selected to be Bell, 1st / 2nd Ord shelvings with -3 dB at cutting frequency, symmetrical shelving with variable Q, Hp / Lp with variable Q, and 1st/2nd Ord. It also has an all pass (90 / 180° phase rotation at the cutting frequency), bandpass, and notch. The outputs X-Over section has Butterworth, Lin / Reyl, and Bessel filters up to 48 dB/Oct, or custom selectable Hp / Lp with up to 48 dB/Oct with the cascaded Iind Ord cells adjustable in frequency, a Q. RMS compressor with selectable ratio up to 32:1, and an adjustable soft / hard knee.
The Output peak limiter with THR in Vp or dBu serves for loudspeakers’ protection. The RMS compressor and Peak Limiter's THR can range up to -30 dBu. Each input and output channel have delays up to 850 ms, with steps of 22 µs. Linking functions between inputs and linking functions between outputs are available. The functions allow having ramps close the output level on parameter changes, when the processor is used as an installation unit. This function can be excluded when the unit is used live and it is necessary to perform small changes to the set parameter on the fly. The Pc software for the included remote control allows connecting in net up to 32 units and shows the phase of the filter setting in order to graphically adjust the RMS compressor and the peak limiter.
The DPA4448Q-R processor can be remotely controlled via a PC. While a single unit can be remotely controlled through a USB interface, multiple units can be controlled through a RS485 interface.
