Tamron 90mm f/2.8 SP Di MACRO 1:1 VC USD Lens for Canon
Key Features
  • 90mm Macro Prime Lens
  • Aperture Range: f/2.8-32
  • 1:1 Maximum Reproduction Ratio
  • Vibration Compensation
The 90mm f/2.8 SP Di MACRO 1:1 VC USD Lens for Canon from Tamron is an updated version of their popular 90mm macro lens. It features Vibration Compensation image stabilization technology for limiting camera shake blur and an Ultrasonic Silent Drive Motor for fast, smooth and quiet autofocus.  A continuous manual focus mechanism provides precise manual focus, especially important with this lens' 1:1 macro capability. And an Internal Focusing system means the front lens elements do not rotate and the lens does not change length when focusing, also important for macro shooting. In addition to macro capability, this 90mm lens is also considered to be an ideal lens for portraiture.

Two extra-low dispersion elements and one low dispersion element reduce chromatic aberration and make for sharp, high resolution images. Newly developed eBAND hybrid lens coating combines conventional multi-coating with a layer of nano-structured coating for particularly uniform light transmission and minimal reflection. This reduces flares and ghosting in your images.

An extra large and ridged focus ring and moisture resistant construction give muscle to this optically impressive lens.

question

Will this lens work with my Rebel EOS T5?
Asked by: Heathir M.
Yes, it is a full frame lens and that will work with both crop and full. Also nice if you upgrade to full frame as this will work with both and ones for crop will not work with full. I didn't know this when I started and I found out I couldn't use some of the lenses that I had for my first camera on full. Nice piece of info to keep in mind.

question

Does the maximum aperture remain at 2.8 all the way through 1:1 macro?
Asked by: PanTerra
Yes,the maximum aperture remains at f/2.8 all the way through 1:1 macro. However, to maintain the same exposure there is an adjustment in the shutter speed. For example in AV mode with center weight metering at f/2.8 the shutter speed is 1/8s at 3 ft (1:10); but the shutter speed changes between 1/6 and 1/4s at (1:1). Hope this will help to address your question.

question

will it work on my D5200 nikon?
Asked by: Rob R.
Yes, it will work. The Nikon D5200 needs a lens with a built in focus motor to autofocus. And that lens has one built in.

question

is it fully compatible with the d750?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes it should work with your d750 fx format camera. Just to add a little something about Tamron. I have used there lenses for several years on my cameras, and have been disappointed.

question

I have a Nikon D5500 but I will be moving to a Nikon D610 in a few weeks. I know it will work with my FX body (when I get it) but will it work with my DX rig? And will it autofocus or will I need to manually focus this? Any other input is definitely appreciated.
Asked by: Jerome T.
This Tamron lens has a built in focusing motor and is therefore compatible with the D5500. The D5500 will only autofocus if the lens has the focus motor.
