MeFOTO A1350Q1 Overview

  • 1Description

The titanium colored MeFoto RoadTrip Travel Tripod Kit offers a sturdy, compact aluminum alloy tripod that extends to 61.6", supports up to 17.6 lb, and folds down to just over 15". The RoadTrip is actually two camera supports in one. A foam-cushioned, removable leg attaches to the center column to convert to full size monopod.

The tripod's legs can be spread independently, with two-position leg angle stops. A spring-loaded hook is located in a recess at the bottom of the center column, allowing you to hang a heavy object from it for additional stability.

The ball head offers separate head and pan locks, a 360° pan index, and an integral bubble level. An Arca-type compatible quick release plate with a 1/4"-20 camera screw is included in the kit, along with a durable carry case with a shoulder strap for storage and transport.

Two Position Leg Angle Stops
For an extra measure of flexibility, tripod legs can be independently locked into place at two different angles to enable shooting in cramped quarters, on uneven terrain or at low camera angles.
Foam Grip on Monopod Leg
Provides comfort while carrying, especially in extreme temperatures.
Rapid Center Column
Uses the same twist-lock system as the legs for fast setup.
Recessed Center Column Hook
A spring loaded recessed hook, located in the bottom of the center column, allows you to hang a heavy object for increased stability.
Quick Twist Rubber Lock Grips with Anti-Rotation Leg System
MeFoto's rubberized locking grips combined with anti-rotation legs enable fast and fumble-free setup plus weather and dust resistance.
Precision Matched Ball Head
Dual-action heavy duty ball head with Arca-type compatible quick release plate.
360 Degree Panning
Accurate panoramas can be easily accomplished using the graduated panning scale for accurate image alignment.
Separate Head and Pan Lock
Individual locking knobs make adjustments easy.
Integral Bubble Level
The bubble level allows you to make accurate adjustments for seamless panoramas.
Carrying Case
Each MeFoto tripod comes with its own carrying case for transport and protection.

    MeFOTO A1350Q1 Reviews

RoadTrip Aluminum Travel Tripod Kit (Titanium) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 510.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from MeLIKE I've had a chance to take this tripod on several wildlife photography trips. I thought that I might be cheating myself a bit due to the price, but I have been pleasantly surprised. This is a great tripod for the price. The ability to hold 17.6 pounds is amazing. Camera: Canon 70D Lens: Canon 40mm pancake - Perfect Lens: Canon 100mm IS L - Pretty solid. Lens: Canon 400mm - A bit shaky, but works perfectly with 2sec delay or high shutter speed. I have not used the included spikes which would probably improve stability, but not significantly. The switch to monopod is fantastic. Would purchase again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Small travel companion Seems most of the lower rated reviews forgot one thing, this is a travel tripod. It's small and light weight. Yes, if you fully ended the legs it's less then stable. The only tripod I have every used that is stable fully extend is impractical to travel with or use in remote places. Keep the last set of legs down it's stable. As for payload weight, I have never had an issue I use a pro body DSLR and have had only minor issues with the head even with 200mm and greater lens. Once you see the limitations the tripod has you can work around them. If you looking for a good quality travel tripod at a great price, this is it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Travel Tripod I love the versatility of this compact tripod. It sets up/tears down quickly with the twist-lock leg sections. It handles my heavy Sony a900 with a 200mm zoom (albeit with a little flex). The extended height is more than enough for my size (6'-1). Great storage bags reduces dings and the color combos make it easy to spot as mine. None of my other tripods is this compact when folded. A quick-change into a monopod seals the deal. If only MeFoto had designed an integrated thumb-grip locking screw instead of having to fish out a coin or screwdriver to secure the floor plate, I'd have given it a solid 5.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Tripod you have is always better than the one you don't I give this 5 stars based on what it is. A compact, easy to pack, well made tripod. Tripods in this range are always going to have to sacrifice rigidity for weight and size. Once you get past that and make the appropriate compensations, then you can happily use this. Maybe that means just using a shutter release or mirror lockup or hang a weight from the centerpost. The only down side for me is that it's actually pretty heavy. Both the center hub and the ball head are a bit chunky. BTW, for its size, the ball head doesn't suck and it's been totally usable for me. I bought mine about $50 ago.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great tripod for the money I have used this tripod in the urban landscape of Manhattan, and the cold winter of Canada, with great success. In both cases it has performed like a champ. This is a very solid tripod that holds my mirrorless (Sony a6000) very sturdy. Even in fairly high winds its as solid as a rock. It is light enough to lug around for an entire day-long hike without weighing me down, but useful enough to want to carry it with me all day. It sets up quickly, and the ball head works well. I already used the Arca plate system from Peak Design, and this tripod works well with that. You can't really go wrong with this tripod.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from versatile tripod This tripod is really a great little tripod, compact when folded, yet tall enough when opened, sturdy enough for most situations, easy to open, adjust and fold up. Also can be used as a monopod without any real hassle converting it. It's actually a pretty rugged monopod with a very nice soft grip. It seems to be well made and comes with it's own carrying case. I have only had video tripods in the past and wanted a tripod for still pictures. This is the first so I can't say if the head is better or worse than any other or compare it to another brand. But from my point of view for my use with my dslr I think it will be more than sufficient.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic Travel Tripod This is a well made and great for travel tripod. Easily fits into a carry-on bag and the ball head doesn't budge, although my 60D, 430ex & 18-135 is about all I put on it. The color selection is great and the monopod feature is pretty nifty although I've only taken it out once or twice like that.My only complaint, and why I rated 4/5, is that the very last segment of the tripod legs seem a little flimsy. Even when I hang my bag on the middle hook they tend to flex and wobble a little. I've simply stopped using the last segment and just extend the neck if I need more height. No other complaints, can't recommend this tripod enough!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Value I've owned several tripods over the years, but there is something special about these MeFoto tripods. Tripods are always bigger and heavier than you want them to be, but the backpacker is a great size for a smaller camera system and will not weigh you down too much. The included ball head is smooth and works great. You can spend a lot more on a tripod and head without necessarily getting a better product. If the MeFoto Backpacker is within your budget, it is worth every penny and probably the best value you can get out of a lightweight tripod. The only real 'con' that I would note is that the quick release plate does require a tool for secure attachment to the camera.
