The bag is carried by a comfortable carrying handle; a thick ergonomic shoulder strap can be used with the 1520 case also.

    Pelican 1527 reviews

1527 Convertible Travel Bag is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Caution Before Buying Pelican 1527 Travel Bag Product is very well constructed and has excellent features. Neither B&H nor Pelican websites show configuration of the interior fittings, so it's impossible to tell what camera equipment can be accommodated. Because there was no description of the interior, I assumed that the internal dividers were similar to the dividers sold with the 1524 case or the 1525 divider set, but they are not. The interior design and nature of dividers are very limiting and will not permit effective use with a single Canon 30D SLR with only 4 lenses 24-70 f/2.8L, 70-200 f/2.8L IS, 100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS, and one smaller lens, flash and accessories. Before buying this product, you should try to inspect the travel bag and determine if it will meet your needs.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great concept, only fair execution I'd have to agree with the other poster. Options forrearranging dividers, and accommodating even a D200 w/70-300lens are very limited. The separate compartment along bottomreally cuts into the depth of this bag.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Perfectly sized bag, but poorly made I love this bag. It's the perfect size, the way I use the main compartment doesn't require any of the pads, but it's a great size for my rig, mostly assembled. It also fits in my hard cases. The main problem is that the bag is falling apart at the seams. At first, it was the main compartment. My rig is too heavy for it to be held upright, and after a couple of months, the stitching came apart. I was able to re-stitch it perfectly fine, which makes me think it could've been done better in the first place. The last straw was the top handle tearing out of it's stitching. There's no way to re-stitch it, unfortunately, since it was the material the handle is made out of, so I'm going to have to find a new bag. Also, all of the zipper pull tabs fall off way too easily.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just perfect I did buy this bag for my new old medium format camera. The heave and bulky Mamiya rb67 kit with motorized back and prism finder perfectly fits in the top compartment. From the dividers I created 3 isolated areas in the bottom compartment of the bag to store three extra film magazines, leaving enough room for few extra films. Two bigger dividers I used for added protection of the front and back of the camera, eliminating any movement of the camera in the nest.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed... On the photos it looks so spacy and versatile. I thought to bring all my stuff in that is at the moment in my 1520 Peli Case w/ padded dividers. Maybe a little bit less... Not a chance! The bag comes with a pre-set interior which doesn't give you many options to change the position of the dividers. I own about 10 different camera bags and have a lot of different dividers left, trying to furnish the bag to my needs. No way! You only can fix the dividers on the lower part and on the sides of the top lid because there is no velcro on the bottom. I can't place my Olympus E-M1 II with the 40-150mm f2.8 attached, due to the lack of height. This bag is for photographers with little equipment. But are these people stowing their camera in a 1520 Peli Case? If I had not made some irreversible changes to the bag, like glueing velcro to the bottom, I would have returned it! So I put all my stuff back to the padded dividers in the 1520 and keep going to use my Domke F-2 when going to the wilderness.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value for the money spent Not the best WW travel bag but it can do the job where I am traveling across the green fields (mountains) with my R1MX body inside without any problem where I removed some protective foams and layers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Couldn't ask for a better product. These bags are a perfect fit for my Pelican cases and are versitile both in the case and as a stand alone bag. Well designed and executed. Wouldn't consider using anything else.
