Rated 1 out of 5 by from Installation woes I very seldom write negative reviews, but I will on this occasion in the hope the makers of this product take action. It is my experience that if a piece of hardware and/or software doesn't install correctly first time, there's a 95% probability that it never will. As other reviewers have reported, software installation was a nightmare. I have a 2017 Dell XPS core i7 running fully updated Windows 10. Not going to bore you with details, but following all instructions, then going through all the available troubleshooting info I could find... I could not get the software to work. About two hours out of my life one evening. Happily B&H are really good about product returns.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and easy monitor calibation I'm a fine art photographer starting to have my work professionally printed for exhibition and sale in museums and galleries. My first attempts to have my work printed were disappointing, colors ewrong, images too dark, nothing matching what i saw onscreen. When i saw my images on other people's computers, they also didn't match what I thought I was producing, leaving others to see something less than my ideal. Clearly, i needed to calibrate my display to ondustry standard. After some research. I chose the Color Munki. The software installed quickly and the monitor calibrated within minutes. My first test prints have come out perfectly, saving me much time, money and worry. All in all, at the price a great bargain.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Mixed Results First off, I spent nearly a whole afternoon trying to get it to work. Would go through the calibration sequence then say 'error, try moving the device' A word to the wise - de-activate all anti virus before installing the software, and when calibratingOnce installed, yes, calibration is a breeze. On my Sony monitor (SDM-P234) it appears it worked rather well. It appears to have removed a reddish cast i suspected was there, and it was overly contrasty as wellOn my Dell 1909W monitor, it didn't do so hot. It introduced a reddish cast. But the Sony is my primary monitor I use for photoshop work, so I can live it, I just set the Dell back to default

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's Simple and it Works The Colormunki Smile is simple and does just what it is advertised to do. I had been disappointed with certain color ranges in my prints. Greens, in particular, appeared much warmer in print than on screen. No amount of fiddling with monitor settings solved the problem. When the Smile went on sale, I gave up and ordered one. Less than ten minutes after opening the package calibration was complete. I no longer see a difference (aside from backlighting) between prints and the display. The Colormunki Smile does not provide the additional features of the more expensive models. However, all I wanted was accurate color reproduction and this did the job.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed overall Very buggy software on my Windows 7 PC and Macbook Pro running OSX El Capitan. Software would not see the device. Finally got it to work on both machines but additional attempts were met with the same problems. When it did work it yielded a pretty good, not great result on my Windows PC, but the profile it created for my Macbook Pro 17 was absolutely ridiculously bad with a strong greenish brown tint and very dark with little contrast. I am a very serious enthusiast level photographer with some professional projects that occasionally come my way and the Colormunki Smile is completely inadequate for my needs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Junk - don't waste your time or money I bought this because I like things simple and this was the most straightforward calibration tool I found. Problem is, it simply doesn't work. Initial install and calibration was fine, although the color didn't look particularly accurate to me, but that was the last time the software could find the calibration device. Only way to make it work was uninstalling and re-installing the software, then it worked again. Calls and emails to X-Rite were never returned, and the online help is a joke. Apparently their customer service is on par with their products. I could never trust this company again after such a dismal experience.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from ColorMunki Smile Color Calibration I'm still not sure of this. Used for my Mac Pro laptop. Gave very warm and dark tones overall. I then went back and played with the color calibration within the Apple system and still not quite right. Have considered re-doing the ColorMonki calibration again. Wish I could get back to the Apple default settings for better comparison. And then the printing after calibration didn't look like the on screen photo so really need to spend some time playing with this. And it might be better on Windows. So if you have a Mac system proceed with caution. Or at least note what your default settings are so you can undo calibration if necessary.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good product, easy to install and use. I am a professional photographer with several years of experience behind a camera, and a couple of years of digital editing experience with both Adobe Photoshop Elements, and Adobe Lightroom to edit my photos. This product was recommended by my instructor, so I bought it and installed it on both my Windows 10 and MacBook Pro computers. The ability to use it on multiple monitors and computers was one of the selling points for me over other products I researched. Installation was very easy and straightforward - including the registration process - and the calibration process was way too easy! I just had to follow the on-screen instructions, hang the very substantial calibration device over the face of each monitor and wait for it to complete its work. The program detected the dual monitors connected to my Windows system and allowed me to calibrate each in turn. The program seemed to take a little longer to calibrate the Retina Display on my MacBook Pro, but it created great results nonetheless. Once completed, the difference in color balance was pleasingly noticeable on both systems. I can now edit with confidence that what I see on my monitors is as accurate as possible.
