Think Tank Photo CityWalker 10 overview

  • 1Description

The blue slate CityWalker 10 Messenger Bag from Think Tank is a soft, padded multi-functional bag that holds your DSLR with 24-70mm f/2.8 attached, extra lens, flash plus a dedicated iPad/tablet compartment. The bag contains a removable padded insert that, when removed, transforms the bag into one large storage space-messenger style. This double-edged approach to a camera bag gives you the freedom to carry camera gear and when the insert is removed, there is room for other items such as books or personals.

The bag is accessed by a double security front snap buckle or touch fasteners that feature Think Tank's Sound Silencers to minimize the noise that traditional touch fasteners generate when opened. This will come in handy when you are shooting in quiet venues such as a chess match or courtroom. The front zippered organizer pocket holds everything from cleaning cloth to pens, note pad, lens cap and other small items. The front pocket is expandable via an easy to use touch fastener.

The overall material is water-resistant and soft providing a body conforming design that makes navigating through crowds and subways much easier. A combination of nylon, polyester, polyurethane and YKK zippers provide strength to the bag. Movable closed-cell interior dividers allow you to configure the bag to suit your gear needs.

The CityWalker is carried by its cushioned, adjustable, non-slip shoulder strap or convenient top grab handle. The bag comes with a seam sealed rain cover that will protect the entire bag when the weather turns against you. Topping off this bag is a business card slot located under the front flap. This will make networking easier when you need to hand your card to someone while on the go. Think Tank backs the CityWalker with a lifetime warranty against manufacturer's defects.

Think Tank Photo CityWalker 10 reviews

CityWalker 10 Messenger Bag (Blue Slate) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 52.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Think Tank Nailed it With This Bag! This is hands down my favorite walk around bag. It holds a gripped D800 (albeit gripped is a tad tight but still doable) with 70-200 F4 or F2.8 on the side and a 16-28 F 2.8 attached with a 50 1.4 and a 24 2.8 down the other side plus a flash and all the accessories I need (including my IPAD), when wandering the city. It's light weight and super durable with crazy good construction and a wonderful shoulder pad that keeps your skin from getting those crazy red marks (semi-bruises?) that can form from weight digging in to your skin. Very comfortable (I always have to say for a shoulder bag) and worth the full retail price to be sure. Thanks again Think Tank!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Right size for a smaller system I was looking for a new bag for my Sony a7RMkII system and the CityWalker 10 is perfect. It fits one body with lens attached (up to the 70-200mm), two other smaller lenses, a moderate size flash and dodads. Very comfortable to carry either on one shoulder or cross-chest. I particularly like the flap closure with velcro plus a clasp. The velcro closure allows quick access when in use while the clip gives some additional security when not in use. Quality construction with a wide strap and non-slip material. I plan to use it for urban and travel photography.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my Fuji X-T1 system A discrete messenger style bag, very light-weight, and perfect for my Fuji X-T1, 18-55mm, 10-25mm, and 55-200mm lens setup and assorted batteries, small flash, and cleaning supplies. I purchased this bag for our coming trip to Italy and will carry the above equipment and my Panasonic Lumix FZ200 bridge camera. The included rain cover will be useful when necessary. Two size pockets for perhaps a water bottle. The interior compartment is removeable and converts the bag into a messenger bag for carrying non-camera equipment. There is a pocket for a full-sized iPad. The shoulder strap is well constructed and can be extended to be used cross-body. There is also a handle for one-handed carrying/moving about.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost perfect This is my 8th bag. Like most of you, I never have the right bag. The CityWalker 10 messenger bag is used for a Fuji XT-1 with an 18-55 attached, a 23, a 14, and a 55-200. To use the bag efficiently, the 14 stays home, or one of the lenses stays home. The removable insert could have been made wider to accommodate the one additional lens or an additional flash. There is room between the end of the removable insert and the borders of the bag to have made the insert larger. Unfortunately, the next size up (the CityWalker 20) is too large for a full day schlep. The bag is light and well made.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from City Walker 10 Great bag for one camera with lens attached and one extra lens w/o lens hood (if it is the L-series style from Canon). It will also hold an on camera type flash such as the 580 or 600 EX Canon Flash. You will also be able to carry an iPad Mini and cords. It is a bit tight on space for a camera with mounted battery grip...but it can be done. The great thing about this bag is the ability to leave a lens on a camera and have immediate access to it. Very few bags give you the ability to leave a lens attached (even a lens like the 70-200 Canon).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Roomy enough for a 3 lens Fuji XT-1 kit plus 11 MacAir Bought because of CityWalker's great reputation and design and need for a non-bulky walkabout bag to hold more than a single camera and attached lens. Now use it to store and carry a Fujifilm XT-1 plus 3 lenses (Fuji 18-55mm or 90 mm mounted, Zeiss 32 mm). Wow. Plenty of room for them plus the usual small accessories like spare cards, batteries, etc. Can also fit a hefty wallet AND an 11 MacAir which I'm planning to do for serious travel. Comfortable fit for a small woman; can carry comfortably on one shoulder or cross-body or by the smaller attached handle though because of its thinness I might not want to use it often when the bag is filled with that much gear. Especially like the flexibility of interior compartments though fitting everything in the removable pouch took some practice. Having the camera secure using the flap top and nothing to unzip to reach it is convenient; however, must be sure to pat down the velcro AND hook the bottom catch to be sure nothing falls out if the bag tips over (hasn't happened yet, but still, can't be too careful). Happy I didn't go for the next sizes up which would probably have been way too large for my gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice lightweight bag for DSLR and laptop I've owned 4-5 other camera bags before this, and this might be my favorite so far. It's very lightweight but feels durable. I can fit my Canon 5D MkII with 24-70 lens attached easily in the center, with enough room on either side of the camera for extra lenses or other accessories. This bag is only listed as having a tablet/iPad slot, but I can fit my 11 Macbook air in it with plenty of room to spare. The strap is pretty comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific bag! I bought this bag for times I'm shooting but won't be walking around alot or for when I'm walking around alot but have light gear in the bag. When I'm hiking or walking for several hours I like to use a hip belt pack or backpack. Now back to the CityWalker 10 Messenger Bag: what a great bag! I love all of the pockets, the insert that can be taken out and the use of lightweight materials. I mainly keep my Rebel T4i in the bag and it's really easy to lug around for a long time. Recently I had my 5D Mark III in it with several fixed length lenses (200 f/2.8, 85 f/1.8, and 40mm pancake, plus Canon's 430 EX II flash). With my camera around my neck, this was a very easy carry. At this point I really don't have any complaints about the bag and highly recommend it.
