The black Quovio 44 Convertible Backpack/Sling from Vanguard is a full-sized pack that holds a full load of gear. Within the pack's customizable interior, you can store your pro DSLR with grip and lens attached (up to 70-200mm f/2.8), 3-5 extra lenses, two flash units and a host of accessories. There's also a separate compartment for your iPad or similar sized tablet. Strap your tripod to the side using Vanguard's Quick Adjustment Straps.

The Quovio 44's most intriguing feature is that it is three bags in one. Ostensibly, it's a backpack but can readily be changed to either a daypack or sling bag. To convert to a sling bag, merely tuck in one of the pack's backpack straps and use the remaining strap over your shoulder with your gear being available from the front or side with one easy zipper. The interior contains padded movable dividers that cushion your equipment. If you remove all the dividers, you have one large storage space that serves as your daypack. Irrespective of how you use the pack, your gear will be held safely and remain accessible.

The exterior of the Quovio 44 is made from a combination of polyester and nylon. The interior is also polyester but contains a velvet lining that helps guard your gear from scratches. The bottom is water-resistant since this is definitely a location bag. To that end, Vanguard includes a rain cover to completely cover the pack when the weather turns against you.

There's plenty of room for accessories such as memory cards, batteries and cables in the 44's accessory pouch. A snap coupled waist belt provides added stability and balance while out in the field. The backpack straps have a sternum strap to add even more stability. Topping off the Quovio 44 is a top grab handle that will come in handy when retrieving the pack from your car or luggage rack. The pack comes with a limited lifetime warranty from Vanguard.

question

Will this pack fit under an airline seat?
Asked by: Bill W.
The bag is designed to be a travel bag, however it is on the longer side. We recommend that you confirm with your airliner's bag policy.

question

How easy (or difficult) is it 2 use the side access 2 change lenses quickly w/o taking off the bag? I work with a 5Dsr, a 28-700, a 70-300 and a hefty 17mm T/S lens. I know there's enough room for them in the main camera compartment -- but I need to be able to access the various lenses quickly in shooting situations.

The side-access compartment of the Vanguard Quovio 44 Convertible Backpack/Sling works as-designed and allows access into the side of the bag in order to retrieve camera bodies or lenses at a moments notice. As you said, if the equipment fits into the bag it will properly fit through the side-compartments for quick and easy access, allowing you faster reaction-times for shooting right away.

question

Will this fit my Nikon D7200 w/attached battery grip?I want to be able to fit camera w/grip and 24-70 f2.8 and 70-200 f2.8 lens attached with the other lens in a lens compartment and be able to quickly access the camera from the side. Will this work with both lenses and room to store the other? I'd also like to be able to store my SB900 flash and 12-24 f4 lens I've been through countless camera bags trying to get it right over the decades.Thank you

I bought this bag earlier this year and really like it. I've taken it on numerous excursions and multiple plane trips. It fits nicely in most overhead bins. There's a lot of room in this bag for top-loading, and you can change the configuration if desired. But the side pocket access is more limited in terms of what you can place there. I have a Nikon D610 and battery grip that when attached doesn't fit well on the side pocket, but works fine from the top access, with various lenses attached.. So it depends on how important the side pocket access is to you when configured with the battery grip. Otherwise a good bag with great padding for protection.
