question

Hi, I need to replace a dead hard drive in my mid-2011 iMac but would prefer not cracking it open. Can I use the firewire connectivity with this external SSD to boot up and use for storage? Or should I consider a thunderbolt connection using something like the Akitio Thunder SATA Dock with an external SSD? Thank you for your advice!
Asked by: John K.
Both interfaces are bootable, but Thunderbolt is much faster than Firewire.

question

I am going to be using this for my home studio and my mic will be kinda close to it, so i was wondering is it quiet?also, does this work well with pro tools or no?
Asked by: kyle s.
I bought this for my daughter, for her sound recording class in college. I know they use protools, so it must work well with that. I don't know about its sound level.
