Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not like the older model... worse Do watch the review dates of the rave reviews! Mine is recent review, Sept 2016. This is NOT the solid well made older model with TWO pins and 45mm jaws. The jaws are too small (< 30mm) for a full size DSLR (D4 or D5), and the knob very difficult to grab and turn (undersized) compared to the original. The only positive point, is the new angle pin. Only on pin is included, so if you have a dual holster system, you have to buy an another pin. Furthermore, when placing the camera on a flat surface, the whole camera is now lopsided, so it cannot easily be used as a camera rest. Designed for a smaller camera body (Mirrorles), and for the casual shooter. Albeit, I do like the new angle for the pins.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from VERY USEFUL AND VERSATILE So I bought this product with the sole aim of having my hands free during a shooting break with my 1Dx. This came in Super handy as I was able to attach it with confidence to the underside of an L-arca Swiss bracket already on the bottom of my camera. It was a no-brained. It clamped on easily and the grip on it was tight as ever. No slipping issues! And when I need to use the Arxa Swiss bracket I can simply unclamp it in one second. The difference between this one and other ones is that I can take it off the camera in a second If I don't want to use it. The build quality on it is VERY DURABLE

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I would buy this product again Enables you to keep your Arca Swiss style plate on your camera and still use the Spider pro system. The clamp goes on and off your camera's plate very easily. A bit pricey but well worth the money -- especially if you want to go easily from the Spider pro set up to a tripod or a flash bracket set up. Yes, the original spider pro plate does allow you to put an Arca-Swiss style plate on the Spider pro plate...but I'd rather have the flexibility the clamp gives.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Necessary item for RRS L bracket This is a necessary item if you want to use the Spider Camera Holster with a RRS L bracket on your camera. Good construction . . . nearly as good as RRS clamps.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Premium product at a premium price I've been a happy Spider holster user for several years. I have the dual holster and also use the handstraps. But when I recently added a Kirk L-bracket to one of my bodies (for easier tripod and monopod use) I still wanted a way to dismount my camera and drop it into the holster. Of course, this bracket/clamp is the solution. It seems overpriced for what it is, but like everything from Spider, it's extremely well made and works perfectly. It holds the L-bracket in a death grip, but it's easy to turn the knob and loosen/remove it in a flash.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great purchase for Spider users I bought the Spider Holster as a way to carry a second camera on nature photo hikes. Wonderful system -- I immediately liked it better than my Black Rapid Strap. The Arca-Swiss clamp allows me to use the system on either of my cameras without needing to have mounting plates installed. I like that when I'm not using the Spider there is nothing extra installed to the bottom of my camera. I have an L bracket on order, which is another reason why this device is a good choice for me. Solid construction -- I feel confident with my 5d mkiii and L lenses hanging from it.The hassle is that you have to take it off every time you use your tripod. This is a quick procedure, but in a hiking situation where I'm taking it on and off repeatedly, it can get old. The solution for this would be to use the Arca-Swiss adapter instead. Maybe I will go that route at some point but for now this solution just seems more elegant.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great bracket I got this for my D7000 w/battery grip, and to use with my f2.8 lenses, when I am shooting action sports. It is very handy to be able to just, slip the camera onto my spider belt, and know that it is there for me. I use this clamp because I have an Arca-swiss bracket on my camera. I am not sure about any differences with the old model, as I got mine in 2016. As for people saying only for mirrorless cameras, your wrong. My camera with the grip is the size and weight of a full frame camera, and I use some heavy lenses also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made in USA! Perfect fit for my Nikon D750. Do not agree with the other review stating that this (2016) adapter is only for mirrorless cameras. Nice addition if you are planning to take a tripod with you.
