The Joker 1600 Zoom Beamer from K5600 Lighting is a lensless focusable beamer that gives 15 to 65° of even light output. With its capability of running on a 15A / 120V circuit, it is dimmable and has selectable frequency options for high speed shooting. With its physical similarities to a faceted umbrella, the soft finish of the beamer distributes light beautifully across your subject.

Do I need to put the bulb in a glass protector or wired protector to keep the light safe if the bulb explodes or will the reflector be enough to protect it?

no, the unit is designed so you place the bare bulb in the Zoom reflector.
