question

What are the maximum and minimum inclinations of this boom? I heard that it can support a maximum of 0.9kg at 6 inclination, can anyone explain this further? Thanks!
Asked by: Yi Fan C.
The stand can go 90-0 degrees. At 6 degrees which is almost horizontal and completely extended you cannot put more than 4.4 lbs of equipment on the boom. I also with most booms suggest using a sand bag on the bottom leg to help prevent it from falling over.

I use this stand primarily for locating lighting fixtures however, I have also used it for a short shotgun mic in a Rhode blimp, which worked out just fine.

Will this support an AD600 with 42 inch octabox ...

Will this support an AD600 with 42 inch octabox (approx. 10lbs) when the boom is extended 3-4 feet?
Asked by: David
I use mine with an AD600 but found an extender that let's the heaviest part of the strobe stay on the floor and just the light bulb is at the end of the boom so it reduces the weight a lot. The problem though is when using it with a 24 inch glow beauty dish and the boom extended horizontally the modifier spins downward for me so I cant keep it at the right angle. If I use a reflector or something smaller it works fine fully extended with sandbags of course.
