I purchased the adapter kit/battery holder for a recently purchased used Gossen Luna-Pro. The adapter fit easily into the battery compartment. Once the batteries were in place, I had no problems screwing the cap on. Readings that I'm now getting with the Luna-Pro match those taken with my Sekonic L-308S. Success.

Most reasonable solution for Luna meters

I liked this option for my Luna meters since it is Gossen approved and allows use of inexpensive, easy to obtain LR44 silver oxide batteries. For the cost of the Wein aircells of which two are required you can purchase the adapter which comes supplied with two LR44 batteries. I am to understand that the aircells only have a two year life. I was able to fit this adapter in a Luna Pro without modification and a older Luna Six (the version that doesn't accept attachments) but I had to remove the contact spring in the battery cap for it to fit, which is very easy to do and is non destructive to the cap or spring. I've seen a few solutions that entail disassembly of the unit or are at least inconvenient but purchasing this device seemed like the most convenient option.

I tried the air cells, but they ran out of power after a few weeks. This adapter (converter) works great, uses common batteries available anywhere. The battery case was a little tall for the compartment in my old Luna Pro, but I removed the spring from the battery compartment cover and then everything fit OK. The old meter now gives accurate exposure values. I would definitely buy again.

Works and fits great. My old Gossen Lunasix 3 is back to life (so to speak). Appears accurate as compared to my DSLR meter and some old film SLR meters. Installation was just a few seconds and using SR/LR44 batteries will save a lot of money.

Like others I had to remove the spring in the battery compartment cap to get a good fit, but when done the adapter gives me use of a great old light meter.

Works Perfect with Lunasix 3

What ever you read about this product not fitting, it is not correct if you are using this on a Lunasix 3. The Luna Pro may be slightly different. This adaptor brought my meter back to life. It is very accurate, and a joy to use. Battery cover fit perfectly.

This Adapter IS Indeed for LUNASIX 3

My LUNASIX 3 bought in 1971 came back to life with this adapter. In the product description B&H says it's for 'Luna Pro Meter' , but the instruction card inside this kit actually refers to Lunasix 3/S. That said, the meter itself needs minor customization to make it work: 1. Lift and bend the metal contact at the bottom of the meter's battery chamber upward so it can touch the adapter pot's recessed bottom. 2. Remove the spring clip inside the meter's battery chamber cover so that the cover can be closed. Now Battery Check correctly rests the needle in the red zone. And the meter works as it should. My only disappointment being the adapter pot except its bottom is made of plastic. Whereas two voltage-reducing adapters bought on the web immediately before this purchase are made of copper. Albeit they failed the Battery Check. The vendor-provided SR43 batteries (1.470 volts yielding 1.284 and 1.455 volts yielding 1.277 respectively) could be the culprit.

question

I have a Konica TC that takes 2 625 bats... Can I use this adapter in the 2-cell battery holder in the camera base?
Asked by: Peter A.
The Gossen Adapter is a very snug fit in my LunaSix meter. To get the cap to engage I have to use a large flat head screw driver and gently apply downward pressure while screwing to make a slight indentation in the top battery. But once in place, the adapter delivers and has allowed the correct voltage for both my Gossens to be professionally calibrated.

question

Can I use this with the Gossen Luna-Pro F which originally uses a 9V battery?
Asked by: Luiz
No. The adapter kit is for two 1.55V button batteries stacked together. The form factor would not be the same as for a 9 volt battery, and the voltage would not match.

question

I have a Luna Pro Six. I love this meter and I think it uses a battery 625. Glad you stock it but is there another more commonly found battery that I could use? The #625 battery is difficult to find.

Hi, I bought the adapter kit from H&M which addresses your concern about availability. It's a pricey solution but ensures you can continue to use the meter for years to come!

That kit is specific for the Gossen meter that used mercury batteries. This battery might work if you are referring to just a replacement battery. But some items do not work well. You need to be check if your device can use this battery.Wein 1.35 V Zinc-Air BatteryB&H # WE400 Mfr # W9901241http://bhpho.to/1vM5HRy.

Yes, the Gossen Adapter Kit/Battery Holder for Luna Pro Meter is used to safely use 2X MS 76 (SR44/EPX76) (B&H # GB76S) 1.5v Silver Batteries in older meters designed for mercury batteries.
