I found the use of the softbox with my profoto b10 strobes straightforward with the only issue being the amount of time it takes to assemble the rods within the softbox. It is such a common issue with the profoto softboxes that I expect it so it is not considered a negative for me.

    Great strip light.....

Built like a tank, but a tank would be easier to disassemble

Materials and build quality are excellent, as to be expected for the brand and price. It gets 4 instead of 5 stars for the difficulty in disassembling. Plan on half an hour with some vice-grips and choice words. Great for the studio if you never plan on breaking it down - would not recommend for location shooting.

I love this 1x4 softbox from Profoto. The construction is extremely high-quality. Lighting pattern is consistent. I am extremely pleased with my purchase and plan on buying two additional softboxes a 1 by 4. 3 and 3 ft. You will not regret your purchases.

Creates beautiful soft light with a slight punch

Love the quality, but set up is not a 2 minute thing.

Love the quality of this better than the 3x1 and the outside seems to be made of heavier quality material. Worked great for the product job shoot. I have used mostly Chimera products in the past but decided to try Profoto boxes out and I am impressed with this one. At least it has the removable front, unlike the 3x1 I returned. It is a bit more intense to set up, but if you set it up and leave it, it's not an issue.

    Expensive w/Limited Use

I ordered both the 1' x 4' and 2' x 3' soft boxes. At almost $500 for the box/grid/OCF ring (which you need to use any Profoto softbox). I'm keeping the 2' x 3' as I think I'll get more use out of it and can't justify the cost of spending over $1,000 for strip-lights. Additionally, all this gear arrived in 5 different boxes and the packaging was overkill. B&H-please allow customers to choose an option to have gear shipped together. There's no need to create so much trash.

    question

How long are the rods for this softbox?
    Asked by: Mark
There are 4 rods measure approx 32 long. Keep in mind they bend over time to mold with the curve of the soft box. So they may start out straight at 33 .
