Nanuk 930 Reviews
First choice for protecting my gear
This recent purchase was the sixth Nanuk case in four different sizes I've made over the years. After having bought several Pelican cases earlier, I have found that I like the Nanuk quality even better, especially when it comes to the locking mechanism. If you've ever tried to open a Pelican case with cold fingers, you know what I mean. Or if you want to close the Pelican lock quietly, you also know what I mean. Sounds benign at first, but I found that this is way more than just an annoyance in too many situations. While both manufacturers offer top quality, these are two significant reasons why I have converted to Nanuk only.
Very well made case. I have purchased 3 of them.
not the strongest case, but not the heaviest either
This ranks with the lighter weight Pelican and SKB air / travel / carry-on cases, not the stronger and heavier protector cases. Foam is foam. The Peak Design large camera cube just happens to fit perfectly, so I tossed the foam and replaced it with the cube. I configured the dividers to hold a Sky-Watcher EQm35 mount. Not a particularly pleasant shade of orange, but it does stand out.
Solid Pelican Alternative
Much more affordable and I would argue the same quality. I can fit my whole BMPCC4K kit in this case no problem: camera with cage, lenses, mini mattebox, rails, batteries and plate, SSD and carrier, and extra tools. New foam inserts are also very affordable if you decide to repurpose the case for something else.
Customizable high quality case
The Nanuk 930 was easy to customize to fit my small refractor telescope and accessories. The shell and hinge quality are top notch, and I am confident they will protect my gear adequately. I also like that I will have the ability to repurpose this case in the future, if necessary, by just swapping out the foam inserts.
This is my second Nanuk 930.
Great way to transport and protect your valuable equipment.
Most secure means to transport
These cases are terrific! Cameras and multiple lenses can be securely transported.
Solid and just right
Just wish it came in red
