Axis Communications T8120 Reviews
Just a note
I bought it as a spare for older units. Tested OK with AXIS M2026-LE and then stored. Note that the image in the catalog is the previous version unit, not the current version. Both versions have the data and data/power Ethernet connections identified, although due to the text being molded into the case, the text is not easily seen in dim light.
Seceond Generation is a Let Down
Our company has used many of these injectors but the latest generation has a different packaging than the first generation. The first generation had a metal package that could chain together with additional injectors. The second generation has a plastic package that will not take the abuse that the first generation did. It my sincere hope that Axis does not cheapen all their products like they did to this one.
Works perfectly but documentation is imperfect.
I had a great experience with this component, which ports power to an Axis camera via Ethernet, (POE). B & H shipped quickly, and the unit works perfectly! I confused the cable routing for a few minute because it wasn't clear which side went to the camera and which went to the router. Luckily my grandson reversed the cables (I argued with him first, silly me!) and it worked immediately. It's built solidly, and no complaints about how it works!
Key piece of equipment
This product is key for the Axis Camera that my work purchased. I was concerned that I would need a shielded Ethernet cable but was pleasantly surprised when we started getting the live feed. Easy install and the lights indicate different stages of connection.
