Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits Olympus 12-1004 Pro Perfectly Got this to hold my Olympus 12-1004 Pro so I can just have this on my belt to securely hold the 12-100 while I swap it with a 7-14 or 9mm body cap fisheye lens. When traveling, many museums/points of interest won't let you bring a backpack and/or check it at the entrance. This fits the lens perfectly w/ the inner sleeve removed. Nice and snug yet not a battle every time to remove/insert. It obviously holds the Olympus 7-142.8 Pro when the 12-100 is on the body (most of the time). I find it a better way to travel w/ the lens than the supplied pouch that Olympus supplies. More compact in my travel bag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Good I Bought Two I use these to protect a Canon EF 35 f2, EF 50 1.8, and EF 28 f2.8, so I can use my backpack as a kit bag. They're well padded, have a nice zipper closure, and fit nicely in the bottom of my backpack when I don't need to pack clothes, and atop my clothes when traveling. Because they're not one unit I can also pack clothes around them if I think conditions may pose a risk. My backpack looks like a backpack, not a photo pack.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Case Got this to hold my Pentax DA 18-55 & 50-200 zooms. I guessed that the interior size would be big enough with the insert removed. My guess was right, it's 3.5 without the extra insert (2.75 with the insert).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a Good Fit I have a Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III lens that I bought this case for that is 2.8 in diameter, but it does not fit well in this case. With the insert in, the fit is very tight inside the case and the lens is hard to remove from it, but with the insert removed the lens has a lot of wiggle room inside the case. That being said, the case is very well-designed and seems to be made really well, however, double check the dimensions of your lens because if it is around 3 in diameter, it will be too big for the insert and your lens will have a lot of room to move around in the case without it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Skinny. Maybe too Skinny for Fast Glass, AI-S & VR Lenses. Beware -- Ape Cases are *S*K*I*N*N*Y*. . I was looking for an Ape Case for my Nikon 80-200 f/2.8 Zoom, which measures 100mm diameter and 245mm in length with hood. Ape Case recommends their ACPROLC16 Professional Medium Lens Case to be used for most modern prime zoom 2.8 lenses. Unfortunately, my Nikon 80-200/2.8 won't even come close to fitting into the recommended Ape Case which measures only 3.0 x 3.5 ID (76mm x 90mm) compared to the lens/hood that's 100mm in diameter. The manufacturer's size recommendations were not even close -- I ended up having to step up to the giant Ape Case for a 300/2.8 to accommodate my 80-200 zoom. Other models of Ape Cases are skinny too -- If you're shopping, take a CLOSE LOOK at the inner diameter of the cases. Most of them measure as small as 2.5 ID (63mm), 2.75 ID (70mm) or 3.0 ID (76mm). Those sizes are WAY TOO SKINNY for many modern lenses whose filter sizes are typically 72-77mm, whose barrels are 90mm, and whose hoods are 100mm. I get the impression that most of the chinese cases are designed around yesterday's older/slower manual focusing glass, or AF glass without internal focusing motors, not today's AI-S optics with internal focusing motors, VR, premium optics and wide barrels. Maybe they're designed for the amateur kit lenses, but they're just too skinny for many professional optics. On a positive note, these cases are well made, and they would be great if you've got glass that's narrow enough to fit in them, but be careful to review the internal measurement specs carefully before you buy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Canon 55-250, 18-135, 10-18 I love the design with the sleeve. I bought this mainly to switch between Canon 55-250 & 18-135. The sleeve is very tight with the 55-250, it can be done but it requires some effort to get it out. It is very secure though. Without the sleeve, it of course has room to shift around but it's so hard to find something perfect and of course it if was then it wouldn't work with the 18-135. The 18-135 is to large for the sleeve. It fits well without the sleeve but does have a little room. The best way to describe it is if you flip it upside down it will hold for a 1/4 second then slide out. I also tried the canon 10-18. it's obviously a shorter lens. It barely fits with the sleeve, extremely tight. without the sleeve it has a lot of space to slide around. Overall I'd highly recommend for the 55-250 and 18-135 canon, if you want a perfect fit you'll have to buy a custom sized case just for that specific lens, but the sleeve makes this very versatile.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product. Great price. For me, this is the perfect case without jumping up to a more expensive hard-side. The adjustable diameter is ideal for my Sony e-mount lenses, although a little snug for the 55-210 with its lens hood (diameter, not length).
