Is this mic battery powered? I would connect it an sennheiser eng 100w wireless transmitter base for handheld mics. Will this mic function attached to this XLR transmitter base?

The Rode Reporter is a dynamic mic which requires no power in order to operate. It is compatible and can be used with the Sennheiser EW 100 series plug in transmitter.

Can Phantom Power damage the Rode Reporter? I ...

Can Phantom Power damage the Rode Reporter? I accidentally had Phantom on, and it still worked for about 4 hours, but wonder if there could be any damages.
Asked by: Seungmin
While the Rode Reporter does not require phantom power, it can be used on a cable with phantom power without the risk of damaging the microphone. However, it is always best to turn off phantom power when the microphone you are using does not require it, as some mics such as vintage ribbon mics can be permanently damaged by phantom power.

Will this work with the Rode Wireless Go system?

Will this work with the Rode Wireless Go system?
Asked by: Brian
This mic could work with the Rode Wireless Go system, but you would have to connect to the transmitter with a cable, such as the Comprehensive EXF Series Stereo 3.5mm Mini Male to 3-Pin XLR Female Cable - 3', BH #COCSMMXF3. The mic would pair better with the Rode RODELink Newsshooter Kit Digital Camera-Mount Wireless Plug-On Microphone System with No Mic (2.4 GHz) BH #RONSH.

question

Hi so I'm new to the whole microphone world. I purchased this handheld Rode mic and realized it was missing a cable/transmitter to connect the mic to the video camera. To the right of this page is 'Recommended Accessories', so I purchased the XLR Female Camcorder Mic Cable. It came in the mail, I hooked it up, and nothing. It doesn't work. I tried hooking the cord into another mic and the sound came in clear as day. Does Rode mic require a more specific cable? Is there something I'm missing here? Why isn't the sound coming through? Thanks.

The Rode Reporter is a dynamic mic which does not require any external power in order to operate. By connecting a cable such as the Hosa Camcorder Mic cable recommended on the Product Page, you should be able to use this mic.

question

will this fit with a square microphone flag?
Asked by: Mike T.
Perfectly Yes @Mike. I recently bought the Rode Reporter along with two flags (square and triangular) from Rycote on B&H and it's a perfect pair. It's almost as if Rycote makes their products to fit perfectly for Rode, considering their previous suspension systems that come with the Rode VideoMic. I will personally recommend the Rycote or Auray flags. They are professional systems and very lightweight as well.
