The Broncolor Move 1200 L Battery Power Pack with Lithium Battery and Charger continues to raise the bar that Broncolor itself has set so high as an industry leader. The familiar blue handle and modern design are about all that has remained from previous incarnations. Two outlets distribute 1,200Ws of flash power either symmetrically or asymmetrically over 9.0 full stops and is variable in either 1/10 stop or 1 stop increments. It gets it there fast too, in every photographic sense of the word. Recycling time is a super-fast 0.02 to 0.9 sec (min/max) with action-stopping flash durations of 1/1000 / 1/350 sec (t0.5 /t0.1) at full power and as short as 1/20,000 / 1/8500 at minimum power. That means fleeting gestures and water droplets among other subjects frozen in mid air if desired. It's great for sports and dance in the field as well.

can this pack be triggered with the RFS 2.1 ...
can this pack be triggered with the RFS 2.1 transceiver or does it only work with the 2.2?
It can be triggered with Broncolor triggers and some 3rd party triggers (cactus, pocket wizard are several triggers that I've used with the pack. I prefer using the Broncolor trigger for a more streamlined operation and having access to all features.

I presume newly purchased ones have this already and only needs changing if older release for HS? firmware version 48.07 or later
Yes, newly purchased move 1200L packs are pre-loaded with the current 48.07 firmware from the factory, though if you received a unit with older firmware, the upgrade can be performed for free at authorised service facilities.

Many trigger/receivers are compatible with the Broncolor MOVE pack. If you do not use the Broncolor trigger (the receiver is built into the pack) you may not be able to remotely control the power level, channels, modeling light(s), hyper sync... However if you just want to trigger the lights - then many triggers (e.g. Pocket Wizard, Cactus, etc.) can work with the pack without issue in my experience.
I recommend using the latest Broncolor trigger if you want access to those features.

Can you plug into power source for studio use, bypassing the battery?
In short, no. However you can purchase a battery-bypass kit to operate the LED modeling lights on the MobiLED strobe, which comes in handy if you want to keep the modeling lights on for say, video recording, etc..
