S-Video / Composite to USB Video Capture Cable is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn't work on Windows 10 I could not get a signal nor could I install the software since this product does not work for Windows 10. Unfortunately, the product description simply states that it works with Mac and Windows. A search on the manufacturer's website proved that this device doesn't work with Windows 10. I have no opinion on how this works with any other platform since I never saw it working. Thankfully B&H's excellent customer service is refunding me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't buy! I'm an IT Pro and I tried to install the device on 4 different computers and systems... never managed to have it working!! The drivers installed OK, I could see the device into the device manager and it looked properly installed but when it came to install the software called AV Grabber, the installation would abort because it never found the device whatever computer or system... same result!! Don't loose your time with that thing!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Bargain For What It Does This device is perfect for basic capture of video to digitize for conversion to MP4s. The software is basic but simple and almost intuitive ... easy to use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far the Capture Cable has worked The cable is intended to allow video recordings of lunar and asteroidal occultations using a low light camera attached through a telescope. I have been able to make everything work indoors but have not yet been able to use it in the field. Hopefully the weather will cooperate later this week so I can do a full fledged run through.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked? Beautifully For VHS to Digital File I bought this cable to capture old VHS tapes to digital files on my PC. Worked perfectly with the included video editing program that is really only a 10 day free trial. That said it did work as advertised and our old VHS memories are now on the cloud :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does it job well I use this to connect an older mini dv camcorder and a sound board to a computer. I allows me to record our congregation 's service. I recommend when disconnecting the wires that you hold each side of the connection and not pull on the wires

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great, easy to figure out This cable works great. It's literally as simple as plugging the composite wires into my VCR and then plugging the USB on the other end into my Mac. Converting my VHS tapes has been easier than I could have hoped for.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It turns on Almost every external product that I have added to my imac computer work great, just plug and play. This product is the exception, it turns on and little more. Updated software and no change. Sorry I purchased it

    question

Can live streaming video be viewed full screen?

Compatible formats will not natively fill a 16:9 aspect ratio display. This dongle is designed for analog composite and s-video formats (i.e 4:3 format).

    question

will this device enable me to record CD's into a Macbook pro into garage band or iTunes when plugged into the USB port?
    Asked by: Rafael
I bought this same device, but I haven't used it for the purposes you describe, so unfortunately I can't speak specifically to your question. I use it for helping transfer old VHS tapes to digital format, and it works great for that. Hopefully someone else can assist.

    question

Can this be used for live streaming? Will encoding software recognize it as a camera input?
    Asked by: Anonymous
This cable will work for streaming. We used ours for one broadcast only, upgrading to 3G converter due to poor quality of the conversion. The poor quality is the video standard, not a reflection on the cable. No problem seeing it as a camera in two different streaming applications.
