Key Features
- Variable 0.3-1.5 Optical Density
- MRC Multi-Resistant Nano Coating
- Slim Aluminum Filter Ring
- 67mm Front Filter Threads
The 62mm B+W XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC-Nano Filter is a solid variable neutral density filter providing an exposure reduction of 1 to 5 stops. The 0.3 to 1.5 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. The degree of density is easily controlled by rotating the front filter ring, helping you to predetermine the additional exposure length required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. For easier, repeatable control over density settings, the front ring is also visually demarcated with dots that represent different density values.

question
Hi. Can this filter be used on a Leica 50mm APO-Summicron-M ASPH f/2.0 lens? Thank you.
The lens has a 39mm filter thread. This filter would not be compatible. B+W makes the same filter in 52mm. If you use a 39-52mm step up ring, then you will be able to use this filter on the Leica lens. Here is the step up ring: http://bhpho.to/1u0UKvfHere is the filter: http://bhpho.to/1qoJGa9

question
Hi,I was wondering 2 things about this filter:* does it have hard stops ?* what is the size of the front filter ? is it 62mm ? thanks
This B+W 62mm XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC nano Filter has hard stops from +1 to +5 stops. The front thread size on this filter is 67mm; in order to avoid vignetting, the front filter thread is oversized.

question
Does this filter work with an M.Zuiko Olympus F2.8 Pro 12-40mm?And would a step down ring 52-62mm cause vignetting?
It will work with that lens. If your using a 52-62mm step up ring from a smaller lens you will be ok. If your using a step down to put a 52mm filter on a 62mm lens then you will most likely have vignetting.

I have a UV protective filter, Can i use it in addition to a Polarize filter? Stack all 3?
It's typically advised you don't stack filters due to diminishing transmission and risk of unwanted glare/artifacts/color-shifting/cross-polarization.

Hello. I purchased this filter but I am having ...
Hello. I purchased this filter but I am having difficulty working out the stop values for each dotted marker increment on the outside ring? I assume the first dot is 1 stop and last dot is 5 stops. If you divide the rest by 1/3 stop or 1/2 stop, then it does not work out mathematically. Any tips or manuals for this lens?
Unfortunately, this is typical of most variable neutral density filters across the spectrum. The markings between the minimum and maximum do not accurately indicate a precise number of stops, and even brands than mark them with ND factors miss the mark significantly; some brands are off by 1/3~2/3 stops with engraved filter factors. While I am not familiar with the physics and/or engineering reason for this, a commonly accepted technique is to adjust the camera settings first and then dial in the VND filter factor. This might be hard/impractical with longer shutter speeds though, so preemptive testing might be necessary.

I want to use a lens cap on the front of this ...
I want to use a lens cap on the front of this 95mm filter, but the 95mm lens cap is too small. What size lens cap will work?
The Sensei 95mm Screw-In Metal Lens Cap (BH # SELCM95) is compatible with the B+W XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC-Nano Filter (95mm, 1 to 5-Stop ).

question
The description says that this filter features a thin, oversized mount which helps to reduce the likelihood to vignetting when used with wide-angle lenses. To use this filter with a smaller diameter lens, what step down ring size would I have to use to be able to use it on a smaller lens diameter - - 77mm or 82 mm to hold this filter?
The size step-up ring that would be required for use on your lens would depend on the filter size of your lens. Unfortunately, you did not list the lens you own or its filter size. As the B+W 77mm XS-Pro Digital ND Vario MRC nano Filter has 77mm rear filter threads, you would need a step-up ring that has 77mm front filter threads. If you need assistance with locating the proper ring for your equipment, you would have to send an e-mail to [email protected] with the above information and we will assist you with your inquiry.
