Have been working with studio strobes since the 1970's. Todays cameras don't need all that Norman or Speedotron power any more. For my small home-studio 2 of these kits (4 strobes) work fine. The Kit is actually less expensive than 2 stand-alone D-Lites sold separately! I got two kits as 4 of these strobes more than covers my 20' X 20' studio. Super easy to set up and understand how the trigger works. Elinchrom equals quality.

After months of research this is my final move

So I'm not one to be writing a lot of reviews although I should since I such a nerd when it comes to researching for months and months when I buy any product. I just like to go for the best option for myself. Studio lights are infinite although not so many brands are reputable. I created diagrams and charts for me to understand what I was getting into in order to make the right move and I did! Super happy with this package. One thing I can be sure about is that if you marry with a product don't be scared of later wanting a different brand modifiers (softboxes, octabox, beauty dishes, etc), because most part of the time there are brands that build rings in order to attach different brands together. And that is precisely what I did since I wasn't in love with the modifiers of this kit (and most part of the time kits give you stuff they barely sell so open your eyes). I bought 2 Phottix boxes (a softbox and a strip box for my portraiture business) and got the ring to attach them, it works wonders. And in case you are a little on the entry side, Elinchrom (swiss brand) has been around for a long time and its one of the most reputable brands, together with Profoto, Broncolor (top brands), Wescott and others. The trigger works just fine although it doesn't have a digital screen it works wonders, Nice stands considering you might end up needing some C-stands which is my next move. Good transportation bag for the lights and all in all just a great reliable brand with a kit that would be the same price as buying the two lights alone, you're saving over $400 immediately. I would recommend to do some research and investigate what type modifiers you need and how much power you need, if you are going to shoot on location or if its just at home or a studio. The rule tends to be 500W would do pretty much all. I recommend you a couple courses from Creative Live on Lightning in order to get some ideas of your needs but you can also ask down here and I can try to guide you with the little I know. Don't go crazy spending 3k on two lights but also don't buy cheap (amazon cheap kits). Cheers

Love it. Great product and transaction

I had this lights since 2016 and they still do the job. Only one light misfires, it's been doing it since I got them but I'm too lazy to send it back for repair. I never had problems with the modeling light or color temperature. Even though they look cheap (plastic casing) don't get fool by it. These light will take the beat. I work with them for 10 hrs straight, sure the fan will start from time to time but I never had problem shooting (except for the ones I already mentioned but it's like on miss every 100 or so shots, not a biggie). I totally recommend this brand. However if your business keep growing and you need more punch they you may need to go to Profoto so start saving.

    question

What is the color temperature for this unit? Is it the same as the dlite 200ws? And does the temperature change with increase in flash power?
    Asked by: Mordechai
According to Elinchrom, all of the current D-Lite RX monolights have a flash tube balance for 5500 Kelvin when the units are set to full power. Unfortunately, there is no information regarding what the color temperature would be at lower power settings.

The internal receiver does not work with the Vello FreeWave Captain. If you use a receiver on the light then you will be able to use the Vello FreeWave Captain.
