Easy to use negative holder

I have tried a number of 35 mm negative holders. I like this the best. It is easy to open and close and the negatives stay in place when you are closing or opening. The fit is perfect with just a small strip of negatives showing. That is useful for inverting the negatives. If you have long strip of 35 mm film, you pull that through the holder so you do not have to open or close it and position the film. I would highly recommend this 35 mm negative holders.

Holds curly 35mm film flat

I built a rig to photograph 35mm B&W film and it is quicker than scanning. The film holder I built works well but not with curled negatives. This Pacific Film Holder holds film tight and flat. The holder is hinged and has a sliding lock, It takes a couple of tries to get film in, but once you get the knack it is easy to work with. I only wished I could have some of the blank film area around the film visible.

Well designed and made.

I use this primarily for digitizing negatives with a camera. it’s made tight and firm without any loose margin, which means the negative strip sits inside perfectly flat. It does not scratch the negative(at least for the 20-30 strips I’ve used with it so far) as well.

Perfect for my use

I'm using this to hold negative strips flat while resting on a light table for copying with my camera. Works great.

Using it for digitizing negatives with a DSLR. Unlike another brand, the thin segments between exposure keep the strip flat. Importantly, there's still enough room around them to catch a sliver of the orange mask, which you can sample to set the white balance when using Negative Lab Pro.

Great value

Used this for dslr scanning. Nice and simple to use, well made. Only thing to be wary of is if it's completely flat on the light pad (if scanning this method). Did have a slight bow in the middle. Otherwise great.

Piece broke the first time I opened it.

Cheap and somehow less durable than you would already expect from cheap plastic.

I'm sorry, no. You would need to make a custom holder using matte board to achieve that result.

question

Do you have a 35mm film holder for Pacific Image Prime Film XA film and negative scanner?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes. I have a film holder for strips of 6 negatives and a slide holder that holds 6 slides. I recommend having two of each. While one slide or film holder is scanning, the other can be prepared to save time.
