Cooler Master QuickFire Rapid overview

  • 1Description

The CM Storm QuickFire Rapid Keyboard from Cooler Master is a USB/PS/2 gaming grade keyboard designed to give you an extra edge during gameplay. This keyboard uses Cherry MX Blue switches that has a light actuation of 50g, a tactile bump, and an audible clicked when pressed.. Get N-key rollover when using the PS/2 connector, which means each key is scanned independently by the keyboard hardware, ensuring that each keypress is correctly detected even if other keys are being pressed or held down simultaneously.

Additional features include multimedia shortcuts, anti-ghosting, and a gaming mode that disables the Windows key to prevent accidental keypresses. The keyboard is built to last, featuring laser-marked keycaps. In case anything happens to them over time, six additional keycaps are included along with a handy key puller. The surface of the keyboard is rubber coated, offering additional durability. The braided USB cable can be detached for easy transport, while grooves on the underside of the keyboard allow you to route the cable through to keep it out of the way.

Cherry MX Blue Switches
Mechanical keyboards utilize a different type of key switch technology for a more durable and unique typing experience. The Cherry MX Blue switch has an actuation force of 50g and offers both an audible "click" and a tactile bump when pressed, letting you know that the key has registered. The "click" comes from a mechanism within the switch that triggers when the key reaches its actuation point.

    Cooler Master QuickFire Rapid reviews

CM Storm QuickFire Rapid Keyboard (Cherry MX Blue) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great keyboard, couple of nits The primary reason for my purchase was to eliminate the 10-key pad which I don't use. Having my mouse closer to my right hand is much better for me ergonomically. With my previous keyboard (Logitech K750), I had issues of multiple key capitalizations and other mis-keys. I'm hoping that will go away with the mechanical keys. A couple of minor issues to mention... (1) It sits hgher than my Logitech keyboard so I have to readjust the position of my hands to avoid carpal tunnel. I'm a old computer guy so I should get use to it in time. (2) The tabs to raise the back up has a solid rubber ends. However, when I want to push the keyboard back, the tabs close. I'm not a gamer so having it sit unmovingly is not an issue for me. In time I'll probably learn to lift it to move the keyboard backwards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best keyboard I had I am very satisfied with this keyboard. Since this is my first mechanicla keyboard. I was considering between Razor and this due to price. finally I chose this one, I am happy with it. Mine is brown switch and the sound is not that big. I like fn keys which can adust volume and win-key lock. and others. I play dota2 with this keyboard. And I code Java with this keyboard. It is a good keyboard for both purpose for me. I want to typying even right now!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I needed I am a medical transcriptionist and type 40 hours a week, was getting carpal tunnel with the mouse at such an angle on a regular keyboard with number pad attached. The feel of this brown switch and minimal sound are just right. The only thing I would change is have the caps lock light appear separately in the top row somewhere to make it visible at a glance...currently there is a light on the key but it is obscured by my hand when typing. Overall, love this keyboard, just what I needed, reasonable price and wonderful service from B&H.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome keyboard for low price I do mostly typing (no gaming) and this keyboard is the best I have ever used. Very well packaged, comes with some colored keycaps and puller. A note on that: I wanted to change some of my keys to have US-international layout printed, but these keys are non-standard sculpted keys, can't get replacements other than CM specific. Not a big deal if you are not changing caps, because these will probably last forever. The keyboard is very sturdy all around, and against most gaming keyboards, it's not flashy or over-designed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome keyboard A very clean, compact mechanical keyboard that is straight to the point with no unnecessary bells and whistles. The key remover tool that comes with it is super handy and the detachable USB cable proves most helpful when traveling with it or just cleaning my desk. The MX browns can be a bit noisy with heavy keypresses, even though they provide no direct audible feedback. I purchased some rubber O-rings and installed them easily which gives me the best of both worlds - a quiet keyboard with a great tactile feel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This site is amazing I will now buy everything from B and H. They have fast shipping, and they are the only ones who allow you to pay the difference from two credit/debit/gift cards! that is great. The keyboard works very well with blue switches and i reccomend you buy it from this site.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Mech. Keyboard: so far so good! This keyboard is my first mechanical keyboard. Amazing keyboard, with the Cherry MX Blue switches (there are other kinds as well) giving good feedback and audible click. Would definitely recommend this keyboard! Key puller- make sure you have it gripped on the bottom of the key; not on the side. Pull up straight, not at an angle. Use the 'FN' key to use the functions on the F keys (the top row of keys) B&H Photo Video shipped it kinda slow, but it was the holiday season!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solved my ergonomic problems Needed to shorten the width of my keyboard so that the mouse was more closely in front of me. Hated to get rid of the number pad, but am getting used to it. And having the directional keys (page up/down, arrows, home/end) so close means that often I use those instead of the mouse, keeping my right hand and arm straight in front of me. As for the keyboard itself, typing is light enough without me making mistakes. Also tried the blue switch, which was loud and I made mistakes.
