    TRENDnet TEW-812DRU reviews

TEW-812DRU AC1750 Dual Band Wireless Router is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 26.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy setup and works great ! Just got the router yesterday in the mail.. setup was easy (you just have to get use to where the setting are located on the menu).... as compared to my other Trendnet router. Anyway, setting it up was easy and it works the first time, great! The only Con I see is the earlier Trendnet Routers had a help file to tell you about each function and specific settings.... This new AC1750 Router does not have a help link on the menu, you have to download the complete users manual from Trendnet directly, it is NOT included on the CD-ROM or in the box. Aside from this minor thing.....definitely a buy !

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Router on steroids I am truly impressed with the Trendnet TEW812DRU, set up was very easy. Between all my wirless devices such as my desktop my sons laptops, tablets, smartphones and smart TV,s this little router seems to be on steroids. Everything we threw at it at the same time did not stop it. but mor important, I can now play against my brothers on the westcoast a decent game of MADDEN without any type of delays or interference, and I can now brag that the eastcoast (NY GIANTS) is far superior than the westcaost, LOL, Love this router, GREAT JOB TRENDNET !!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Modifying my initial revew... When I first set up this router, the speed was what blew me away. Recently, however, I have been having more and more disconnect issues. The router does not seem to want to stay connected and has been dropping in internet connections on my PC, TV, Blu-ray, etc. I have updated the firmware as they become available, however, to no avail. If the router is connected, I get excellent throughput, but therein lies the problem. Too many disconnects.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great BANG for the buck! I actually purchased this for my brother's BD. He had an older TRENDnet router that was not keeping up with needs of a college age son, a spouse that streamed videos, and his passion for online football. The bandwidth demand was outgrowing his router. My other brother had already bought the TEW-812DRU and was raving about it. After installing his BD gift, I can understand why. Besides telling me he was getting coverage where he had not been able to prior, from my point our Madden games have never been more competitive! Connection was clean and game reaction time tremendously improved. It was as though we were playing in the same room and not 3000 miles away. This router actually IMPROVED the way all his 802.11n devices performed! I too, will now have to get my own 812DRU (haven't won a game since he got his!!!). I don't know all that TRENDnet has engineered into this 802.11ac router, but, it works!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great upgrade This is a replacement for an old dlink 655. I was only getting about 3-12MBps on the old router. When I plugged this Trendnet in I immediately got over 20MBps. None of my devices are compatible yet so I can only confirm that older devices using g&n work great with this upgrade.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Router.... B&H had best price Terrific router and easy to set up.... There is (no) full manual with the package or on the CD.... just a quick user guide. You have to go to Trendnet and download the full manual. Other: Older Router had help icon/link on the Admin page to guide you on setting up the router, but on this model... their is no help link - you have to refer to the manual which is (not) included; again, must down load. Other than that, it is great !

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good I replaced a very old router. I have had this one for about amonth. It is much faster as expected but three of us can access the internet at the same time wuihout any slowdowns, even when streaming video. It is located on the second floor and reaches without problem down to the basement. Setup was very easy. I would recommend it

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Drops wifi signal all the time I've tried the TrendNet router with two different new cable modems on Bright House. Even with all new wiring, the wifi signal has gone out again and again. Since it was still under warranty, I sent it back to TrendNet, which chose to replace it with a new one. But the new one had the same problem out of the box. I've worked with a TrendNet technician for 2 months, but to date, the problem continues. I'll have to start over with another router, because the TrendNet router has been problematic and unreliable.
