The directional angle of the mic capsules can me manually adjusted from 0° to 120°, allowing you to fine-tune your audio capture according to the setting. Plus, an included windscreen enhances audio quality further by cutting down on wind noise pickup.

I bought this mic and am mounting on a Sony A7c. ...

I bought this mic and am mounting on a Sony A7c. It sounds good but the camera is not allowing me to change the audio Rec level saying "unavailable with the currently connected external microphone. Disconnect the external microphone". It's there a way to use this mic and still alter the recording level on the camera?
Asked by: Chris
According to page 242 in the manual for the Sony A7C, it states that "The [Audio Rec Level] settings are applied for both the internal microphone and the (microphone) terminal input."

When mounted on the SONY RX10 via the shoe this microphone disables the manual audio levels. Am I therefore correct in assuming that the RX10 is now recording with auto levels? But when I plug-in the included connecting cable in addition manual levels are once again usable. So when mounted to the shoe, with connecting cable plugged-in is the only way to use manual audio levels with the RX10?SONY offer no explanation as to what's actually happening here!

The way the mic works is correct and the only controls if using via the shoe are just what are on the mic itself. To get the other controls from the camera it needs to be attached via the mic jack.

This micro comes with a multi-interface shoe. For older movie cameras, you would need a Sony adapter (shoe).

Asked by: Sony
No, not a good solution! It has a shoe connection and it also has a mini jack out, but that's not a good audio transfer! "The ARRI Guy"
