Sony ACCTRBX reviews

Battery and Charger Kit with NP-BX1 Battery is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 131.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Must-Have Battery Charger I think Sony's main shortfall is their seeming inability to properly advertise and promote their products. Case in point: The Cyber-Shot Accessory Kit. This is a great charger. It works with multiple batteries through a series of hinges plastic bits. Though that's a bit off-putting, it holds my battery securly for charging. It has clear LEDs that indicate how much the battery has charged, when it is done, or if it has malfunctioned. Connects directly to 110 with a swinging hideaway plug or by means of an included USB cable. The charger seems expensive, but it's not, as it includes on spare battery. If this had been more clearly described or promoted, I would have purchased it before buying a spare battery.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does the job, but could be smaller Good bargain for the price. Battery charger is larger than it needs to be for the NP-BX1.(likely due to its being usable for several different batteries). The instructions were confusing on placement of the NP-BX1 into the charger.. Even though the written instructions correctly correspond to the drawing, the drawing actually represents the charger upside down so what is referred to as the left side of the charger is really the right side if the word Sony on the front is right-side up. Unfortunately, the drawings are not revealing enough to actually see how the battery sits in the charger. Once you figure this out, everything works as it should.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stupid outdated design It works is the best I can say. Considering it is powering-up batteries for the RX-100, a very small compact design, this thing is exactly what I hate about Sony: they fall down on the small stuff, the details that matter to consumers. The bulk of this thing with an unnecessary line cord is as big as the camera...due to it being universal to several batteries. For the price of a RX-100 III (or much more for a IV) one should get a decent battery charger (and a manual) for that matter). The battery is small but the charger is incredibly clunky. I'll bet there is an aftermarket unit that is much smaller and less money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from just makes sense purchased the RX100 mkii and of course your going to need another battery. A new sony branded battery will run you about $$alone. For the extra $15 i got the quick charge kit. Keep in mind that the Rx100 requires that you plug the camera into the wall/pc to charge the battery. I dont like that. I rather have a surge destroy a charger/battery vs my camera! I guess this will be cool for some, but the charger includes a switch, you can charge the battery in the slot OR any USB device (ok maybe not ANY but a ton). I think it could be more useful to people if it would allow two at 1 time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Charger is a nice option; battery is gre One of the annoying trends in the industry is that anything below top-of-the-line cameras expect you to charge the battery in the camera from a USB port. Nikon, Canon, Sony, they all do it and this ties up your camera and computer. Thankfully they all offer an optional charger, and no one with a brain tries to get by on one battery. I bought this kit (wall charger and extra battery) and a third extra battery, and while the charger works as advertised, I'm VERY impressed with the performance of the batteries. The DSC-HX300 has a big, heavy lens, but this battery is up to the task and I'm getting a phenomenal number of shots with lots of zoom-in/zoom-out on a single charge.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Works for Sony Batteries Yes, it works for Sony batteries, and covers quite a few of them. That is rather nice. That is the only advantage this charger has. Where it fails: -Universal design means no battery really fits right in it. -Very bulky design. -Can only run on AC outlet, not on USB or Cigarette lighter. -AC plug folds out so this covers multiple outlets when plugged in. -Works well only with Sony batteries and not aftermarket batteries. -Can only power the USB output plug OR charge a battery, not both (so you cannot charge in the the camera and a second battery at the same time. -Cannot charge Sony NP-FW50 batteries for the alpha a7 and a6000 series cameras (owners of this camera are likely to have those as well.) What it does right: -Has a 3-segment indicator where the charge is at. -Charges low and slow for extending battery life. -Charges more than just one battery type (because Sony changes battery design for just about every camera!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from competent charger The power prongs fold, so this is a true travel charger. I have several of the tiny chargers styled as battery cases, and they work well, but are slow. I carry the tiny chargers with me. This stays in my house, though I would take it on a long trip. It has a switch that allows it to function as a 1.5 amp usb charger as well. So when it isn't charging batteries, it is hooked to the cradle charger of my Sony Xperia Z tablet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must-Buy for the RX100 The charger that comes with the RX100 only allows for charging the battery while it is in the camera. (Boo, Sony!) This kit provides both an extra battery and the means to charge without it being in the camera. The charger can also be used for other models of Sony batteries. The B&H price is better than Sony's, too! Thanks B&H
