Characterized by its sleek and portable appearance, the Sony E-mount, black Sigma 60mm f/2.8 DN Art is a compact short-telephoto lens. question

Bought this lens and it rattles. Someone told me There are parts that float free until the lens draws power from the camera. Is this true? I concluded I got a damaged or defective lens.
Asked by: Kurt
It's supposed to be like that. When you mount it and turn on your camera, the focus motor powers up and hold the moving element(s) in place and it doesn't rattle. The lens itself is excellent and very sharp.

question

Will a 46mm-49mm step-up ring for filters work without interfering with the lens hood?
Asked by: Duane S.
This combination will work but adapter and larger filter must be removed prior to removing the hood. The only way around this is a slightly larger( 49mm)screw in hood.

question

is this lens a 60mm or 90mm it says 35mm equivlent is 90mm I want a 90mm not a 60mm view angle for my a6500?
Asked by: Terry S.
It's listed as a 60mm, but on the sony A6500 there is a 1.5 times crop factor. That said, it's equivalent to a 90mm on a full frame sensor. Please not that the crop factor also applies to the apperature when compared to a full frame. Now all that said, it is an excellent lens especially if sharpness is a primary concern to you.

Would this lense be good for food photography?

This is an excellent lens for almost anything. For food photography I may consider a 30mm. Just a thought.
