The BenQ MW870UST WXGA Multi-Region 3D Ready DLP Projector is designed for teaching and presentations in a variety of settings including classrooms and conference rooms. It provides a short-throw ratio and 3500 ANSI lumens of brightness with a low noise level of only 31 dBA in Eco-Mode. It features a sharp 2600:1 contrast ratio, 3D capabilities and WXGA 1280 x 800 native resolution. The projector is powered by a DLP chip system and the lamp features a long life up to 4000 hours.
The projector features a variety of connection options including an HDMI input. It also offers LAN Display and USB Display options, as well as PC-less teaching via USB and remote teaching via LAN connectivity. Other features include a built-in 20W stereo speaker system, 3rd generation PointDraw Technology with Multi-Device Collaboration Mode and a low <1W standby power consumption level. The MW870UST supports ecoFACTS environmentally friendly packaging as well.
3rd Generation PointDraw Technology with Multi-Device Collaboration Mode
BenQ promotes classroom collaboration as well as teacher-student and student-student interaction by facilitating a diverse learning environment that fosters all learners. Its latest creation, the 3rd generation PointDraw technology, improves teaching and learning. It also provides additional support for multi-device collaboration. With simultaneous teacher-student interaction, students can take turn making their contribution to the lesson under the teacher's complete guidance and control.
DLP Link 3D Projection
With DLP Link 3D Projection, teachers can illustrate complex or abstract concepts using 3D graphics and engage students in biology projects such as animal dissection more effectively. They can also take their classes on virtual field trips whenever and wherever they want. When using a PC, the projector supports 120 Hz Frame Sequential 3D for resolutions up to WXGA and 60 Hz Top-bottom 3D for resolutions up to SXGA+. When using video from other sources, the projector supports 60 Hz Frame Sequential 3D for resolutions up to 480i.
Zero Space Constraints
This projector provides the same projection quality as other BenQ projectors, but requires half the distance to project an image. This will afford better flexibility when choosing your projection locations.

20W Speaker Power & Microphone Input Support
The MW870UST comes with enhanced audio support for your classroom. Two 10W speakers are sealed and secured within each side of the projector. Plus, BenQ's anti-shake design delivers 20W clear audio performance with stable projection. The projector's microphone input connects the projector to a conventional microphone or microphone headset for increased ease when teaching and learning.
Unlike other interactive projection solutions, BenQ's PointDraw technology requires no calibration at all between the MW870UST and the projection screen. Teachers can easily set up their lesson to begin teaching - all they need to do is switch on the projector and the PointDraw pen.
WXGA Widescreen Short-Throw Projection
Engage your class with BenQ's WXGA 1280 x 800 short-throw picture performance. Compared to 4:3 projections, WXGA widescreen projection boosts the total viewing area by 30% for effective learning. The unique ultra short-throw technology renders sharp, clear images and less shadow distractions since it requires only 2.3' (0.7m) to project a large 87" (221cm) image. WXGA provides the best resolution support for widescreen PCs and notebooks.
LAN Display offers a cost-effective solution for projector implementation management using a single LAN cable to control and display. This feature also offers simultaneous 4-1 or partial projection display option for better content management for discussions, presentations, training and classroom teaching.
USB Display offers the plug-and-play convenience of USB connection with automatic resolution detection for the best image presentation and extension support for simultaneous multi-projection display.
The MW870UST supports PC-less teaching in two ways: USB Drive Display and Remote Desktop. USB Drive Display allows teachers to teach light with a USB flash drive. All they need to do is save the files they need onto a USB flash drive and insert it in the MW870UST to start teaching. File types supported are JPEG, BMP, PNG, GIF and TIFF. Remote Desktop grants teachers remote access to files stored in their computers with a wireless mouse and keyboard via LAN connection. With this handy feature, there will be no need for a classroom computer - which means more money saved on computer purchases, maintenance and repair for your school.
ecoFACTS declares that the MW870UST supports the effort to replace hazardous substances by improving material selection, packaging design, energy-saving design and other aspects of the product. The MW870UST includes arsenic-free optical glass, BFR/PVC-free casing plastics and PVC-free plastic packaging.
