I ordered this last year for when I need to clean the print heads of my DS- RX! printer. I went to use it tonight and the package contents are just as pictured. Very poor instructions at least while trying to follow along on my printer. The instructions state that this is for a DS40/DS80 printer. The instructions show a printer that is definitely not like mine. So I am assuming that it is not the right one. Very disappointing as I am going to need to send this in to the shop which will cost $$$$

how often is it recommended to clean the printer head?
Whenever any impressions appear regularly in the same place on the prints, on either the front or back, you will need to clean the platen roller.

I have the Sony UP DR-200 that is now discontinued. I cannot find the original print head cleaning system for that model anywhere. Would this be an okay product to substitute?
It is not compatible with the Sony DR-200 printer.

DNP doesn't sell the Epson Surecolor P9000 so I don't know that answer. However, your subject mentions the DNP RX1HS printer. We do have a cleaning kit for our printers. The part number is 100-860. You can order this from B&H.
