AWG is not specified on package or cable. Wording on cabe is: High Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet E252840. Package says 4K HDMI Interface, 3D, Full HD. The cable itself is medium weight, maybe on the thin side (not extremely thin, though). I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work just fine to hook up a laptop to a TV.
