Reasonably Priced Good Quality Paper

I have tried a lot of ink jet papers that produce a good image that isn't overly glossy but has a large tonal range. Long term fading isn't of interest to me - the photographs I print are generally for short periods of viewing and definitely are no longer needed in ten years. This luster paper is the best I've found to date that meets all of my needs and is fairly reasonably priced. I print on an Epson SureColor P800 and use the Hahnemuhle profile for this paper.

My Go To Paper

The quality can not be beat. The colors in print match my screen whereas I was using another brand it had a blue cast to it whenever I printed. I buy the 17 x 22 sheets to cut them up to smaller sizes, as needed. My printer can not take any larger size sheets so these do the trick.

Do not buy this paper if......

DO NOT BUY THIS PAPER if you have an older printer.I bought this photo paper a couple of months ago and I finally got around to using it but they have no ICC profile for my printer for this paper. I tried some other profiles with it and it came out way too dark. I even contacted the company and they were of no help. So if you have an older printer do not buy this paper or any paper from this company.

The Photo Luster 290 Inkjet is 110% white and the image will fade over time, unless using a glaze that rejects UV light.

I have been using only the Epson Premium lustre paper for a while and I find it leans toward a blue-ish hue. I wanted to try another brand. I have an espon 3880. have you experienced any quirks with this brand?
Asked by: Eileen
This may be due, at least in part, to your printer's color profile calibration as well.

question

I have an Epson printer stylus 1400, and old one . What is the maximum thickness of photo paper that I can use in my printer ?
Asked by: Anonymous
Unless your printer has seen so much use that regular photo media is slipping, the 290 should feed fine. It worked in my old Epson i9900 (until the heads finally gave out). Also works in the Canon iPF5000. Good luck.
