question

Anyone, can I use the Edit mode in Capture to delete commercials? I am going crazy trying to figure it out. The left button says it will delete everything to the left, and the right button says it will delete everything to the right.... how do I delete something in-between ? Thanks in advance....
Asked by: George D.
I have been using a Hauppauge PRV with EyeTV since early 2007. I use EyeTV to do the editing. I click a button to start the editing and the same button to stop the editing. When finished with the editing, click another button to compact the file. The commercials (between the start and stop editing) will be deleted. It works great and I am totally satisfied with it. I have not tried editing with the Hauppauge software.

question

Can I record youtube videos and playback in sequential order and is it possible to pause and restart a recording?
Asked by: Anonymous
Depending on how you have your system configured, yes. If feed the output of your video card through the PVR2, then you can record anything that is being displayed. For best results it is recommended to connect the PVR2 as a second monitor as it will record everything sent to it. If your video card has an HDMI output it may also even handle sound. If not, you'll need to connect the PVR as an external speaker.I don't believe it's possible to pause a recording, but you can always stop and restart it. Alternatively, you can simply let it continue to record and then edit the video later. There's a freeware program called avidemux that will let you do that. If you cut at I-Frames, you can even output the video without re-encoding which not only gives you the best quality, it's fast. Avidemux can also append multiple files as long as they're the same format and dimensions.I believe the Hauppauge capture software can do much of that too, though I don't have any experience with it.

question

can you view the video simultaneously on the computer while it's passing the video out the HDMI to the TV?
Asked by: KELLY C.
Yes ... but ... due to the time it takes for the conversion of the video that is sent to the computer, it does lag behind what is passed through to the TV by several seconds.

question

Does anyone know how to fix sync issues between Audio and Video? The problem seems to slowly build up during a 2 hour movie, and toward the end, there is over 1 second mismatch.
Asked by: George D.
Yes, I have the same problem and have stopped using the unit. The audio sync is out on all recording attempts

question

Does anyone know if this device record HDMI output from ATT U-Verse DVR? Also, can I record directly to a Portable USB Hard Drive in MP4 format, and then Play it back from the Hard Drive through the device and back to the TV? -- in other words, can I make it work just like a DVR using high capacity, external portable USB Hard Drives?
Asked by: George D.
To record from any HDMI output you need a HDMI splitter that is HDCP compliant. You can only record with a computer. The recording the can be transferred to usb hard drive or to a flash drive. Try U tube for more information
