Yes but you would need to connect the Hauppauge HD Personal Video Recorder 2 to a computer or laptop as well to be able to do that.

If I record a 1 hour show through the device into my external hard drive through my computer what will be the size of the video, will it be up to 2GB?
Less than 2GB due to the H.264 AVCHD codec.
