The ODIN-32DW 320x240 60Hz Thermal Monocular Weapon Sight Kit from ATN is a compact thermal imaging device featuring the same size, weight, and shape as the PVS-14 night vision monocular. Like the PVS-14, this thermal imager is head, helmet, tripod, and weapon mountable. In addition, the ODIN monocular is compatible with almost all PVS-14 accessories. The ODIN-32DW weapon sight kit is specially equipped for AR-style weapon mounting; this model has five selectable reticle patterns and it includes a Picatinny rail mount adapter.
A 320x240 microbolometer sits at the core of the ODIN-32DW imaging system. By analyzing the heat signature within its field of view, this device is capable of seeing through fog, dust, daylight, and darkness to reveal subjects of interest where the unaided eye sees none. The heat sensor has 50mK sensitivity, capable of distinguishing subtle temperature differences and creating well-defined thermal images. This detector's 60Hz refresh rate is able to capture motion without the choppiness seen in slower thermal systems. A video output port allows the image to be transmitted at full-resolution to video monitors and recording devices.
This configuration of the ODIN comes with a 35mm lens that transmits a 15x11° angle of view, suitable for close to mid-range engagement and observation. Selectable polarity modes allow the operator to designate white-hot, black-hot, or even transpose the heat signature into a false-color image. Other image enhancement tools like digital zoom and manual brightness adjustment provide further control of the viewing settings. The OLED color display, waterproof housing, and included head mounting kit complement the ODIN monocular kit's range of features, making this thermal system ready for a wide range of tactical operations.
