    Series 7 EX-L96UD reviews

EX-L96 Battery Pack (Updated) is rated 3.1 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value, excellent performance with Sony FS-7! Works with the Sony FS7 without connecting the wire! Through the regular battery connection, that is. It is a major breakthrough since previous models relied on the external DC connection, and the supplied cable eventually broke. Half the price of the Sony and lasts me 4 hrs operation, while powering a 6inch external monitor through its very handy P-tap. And it sticks out of the FS7 just the right amount to be able to use the p-tap outlet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great deal! Got this for my FS7. Fully charged it is good for 335 mins. It charges with the supplied charger that comes with the FS7. However the minutes seem to diminish a tad quicker than the actual time the battery is powering the camera. For example, 20 mins less on the display is actually 16 or so minutes in real time. This is all in 1920x1080 24p XAVC-I. Did not test it using any 4k resolution. Only thing i did not pay attention to when ordered: this battery sticks out at the bacl of the camera for about an inch. Might not be pretty, but the battery actually helps to balance the camera out if used in barebone set up. Would buy another one. Recommended but still need test further in real life applications.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well I purchased these for use with my FS7 as other non OM batteries weren't working with the camera. This powers through the DC input instead of the battery contacts so you will not have the usual battery life indicator. They take around 5 hours to charge on the sony charger. They seem to last about 8-10 hours with constant use using primes. I have not added other items such as a powered lens or light. This battery has the ability to power accessories. All in all its a pretty good deal. Good for documentary and run and gun work. They are larger than their sony counterpart.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work with PMW300 Might be an awesome Battery with any other Camera then the PMW300.B+H is listing it as an compatible accessory. I called Switronix and they told me that it should work with PMW300 but it just doesn't work with it. A quick look around the Forums confirmed this. Other People having the same problem. So don't buy it if you want to Power your PMW300 with it.cheers

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheap is expensive! I used these batteries in a Sony PMW-200, normally i use Sony batteries but when i saw the additional tap to power whatever accesorie i may use, i thought it could be a great option. The issues came later, I bought 7 of these batteries and all had the same issue, the connectors do not make a proper contact and the camera goes off at any time. If you connect the battery with the cable you wont have issues, but the battery does not fit in. Besides all this, one of this batteries simply broke up, after a week.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great while it lasts... We've got 3 of these after 2 of our original design L96 batteries quit (1 due to the cord breaking inside the case). These balance our EX1s perfectly and also can be used as a shoulder contact point for added stability. The run time for these are tremendous. However, 2 of them are now out of commission after about a year. They're dead because of the external power cord design. First, the contact point for the cable inside the case (used for charging) is very poor. It's simply a strip of metal and will eventually be pushed too far inside the case to make contact with the plug. Second, the cable itself will eventually succumb to wear, most likely (in both of our dead battery's cases) just inside the case where it's unserviceable. They're essentially half the price of Sony's slightly smaller capacity, no external cable design, which is a huge draw and may be enough to risk replacing them more frequently, but that cord IS a weak point and will likely cause you issues at some point before you'd normally replace the battery.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from These reviews are mostly for the older EX-L96... The model numbers are similar so B&H needs to check the reviews for the older battery vs. this newer one.
